Bab 59: Chapter 59- Take It Slow
Just as he was about to show Yun Ning the restaurant, he felt a movement from his right hand. A familiar movement, yet meeker, slower.
He looked back and sure enough, Yun Ning just intertwined their fingers together, holding their hands even tighter as she looked expectantly at Long Ren, for a reason he could not comprehend.
They stopped in their tracks as their eyes met. Long Ren felt confused seeing her gaze and actions, she just suddenly, with no rhyme nor reason, intertwined their hands and looked at him, how does he respond to this?
Long Ren stood still as he tried to first comprehend what was going on and then react accordingly, though he hadn't had much success in it.
Yun Ning saw his still gaze and her heart started to clench. He hadn't reacted, had he? Say something.
A few seconds passed as nothing happened between them, they kept their gaze on each other's until Long Ren did something.
He turned around as he positioned himself a bit behind, now standing right next to her. He squeezed her hand even tighter, bringing their bodies closer as he pointed towards the restaurant.
"Wanna go there?" He said. His eyes turned to hers, looking down as he matched her eye level.
Yun Ning felt his squeeze and her heart bloomed, at least he didn't reject her actions, rather, he reciprocated as well!
Yun Ning nodded at his words as she kept their hands tight. Seeing her confirmation, they both trotted over to the restaurant, hand in hand, now more intimate than ever.
Yun Ning's thoughts were still a bit confused about his actions before, but she got the confirmation she needed. He didn't hate her actions, maybe it was too sudden, that's all.
She completely blamed her master for it. Diona had been encouraging her too much, showing her things she would rather learn by herself. Although it worked once, it didn't work the next time.
Yun Ning saw a small tint of blush on Long Ren's cheeks, she didn't realize it yet, but the same tint also appeared on hers.
Yun Ning decided to take her own pace, rather than following all of Diona's encouragement. Long Ren seemed more comfortable with it as well.
Rather than forcing him to do things, it'd be better for her to nudge it to him so he does it himself.
And ultimately, this isn't training. She doesn't need to progress at every intervals. As long they both enjoyed their time together, it's all good.
'I'd better take it slow then, we have all the time in the world, after all, Mn,' Yun Ning thought to herself as she looked at Long Ren's side view, and smiled, feeling content.

"Three original mooncakes and two chrysanthemum tea is that all, young master and miss?" A waiter said, repeating their orders. Yun Ning and Long Ren both nodded as He quickly left and did his job, leaving them in their own private room.

Long Ren and Yun Ning's table were right beside the window, letting them view the world from above as they were currently on floor 5. They were sitting face to face.
"So…still wanna talk about it?" Long Ren asked, though, he felt like whatever she was preoccupied with was now gone, as her usual gentle smile, already returned.
Yun Ning shook her head, "No need, It's gone already, thanks to you," She said, her perfect white teeth peeked out as her smile bloomed,
"I didn't even do anything though," Long Ren said. It probably had something to do with her squeezing their hands together and him reciprocating, but it felt too easy, considering she was that lost in her thoughts and all.
Yun Ning didn't respond and only kept her smile at him, his eyes twitched, seeing the current situation, her mood changed WAY too quickly!.
"And how long will we be doing this?" He said, his left hand pointing at their still intertwined hand, resting on the table.
"As long as you want to," Yun Ning answered.
"Isn't it supposed to be as long as you want to?"
"Nope, We'll stop when you want to." Yun Ning said, she then showed Long Ren a pleading gaze as if saying "I don't want to stop,"
Long Ren noticed her gaze and his eyes twitched even more. Does he even have an option in this situation?
At this point, no matter how deprived of a relationship he was in his previous life, he simply could not ignore her advances! It was too obvious!
He had realized this a long time ago, with so many cues and so many signs, it was impossible not to, but, he really don't want to start it.
He, for one, only wanted to be friends with her, and maybe, when they've gotten to know each other more, then sure.
But this went by much much faster than Long Ren would've imagined, and he knew the reason! That damned pervert Diona!
He doesn't know the reason why Diona wanted them to be together, but he doesn't like it when someone else controlled the strings, at least not in regard to emotional feelings. Though he knew Yun Ning wouldn't be forced into it, it still felt wrong.
But, to be honest with himself, Long Ren wouldn't mind if their relationship started even now, he enjoyed each and every second they spent together.
He looked at their overlapping hands and then Yun Ning. She was staring out the high-rise window, looking down on everyone's daily motions. She looked beautiful and cute as the morning winds rustled her short dark blue ponytail.
He liked her, but love? Maybe not yet.
He squeezed their hands together, prompting her to turn to him as a smile bloomed on her face, "What's wrong?"
Long Ren showed a smile of his own as well as he said, "Nothing. This is just nice."
"Mn, it is,"
…
If he had the steer, he'd take it slow, but, it's on Yun Ning right now, and he wouldn't mind following the ride, no matter how fast she decided to go.

(A/N: I've never intended to include Long Ren's past trauma + these cheesy relationship arcs in the outline of the story…yet somehow they made their way here, I'd say they're decently good)
