Long Ren was trapped inside a V-shaped ice arena as Yun Ning stood in the convergence, her sword swooshing up and down, releasing attacks in his direction.
Long Ren shot several bullets, mitigating her attacks. Easy enough, as they were but probing attacks. He did not duplicate them as he haven't thought of another way to possibly bypass her aura, for now.
They stood against each other, 10 meters apart forming yet another standstill. Yun Ning can't make the first move, rather she wouldn't.
Her combat power spikes off the charts, as compared to Long Ren at least, hence she would only match his, otherwise, the spar would turn into bullying.
While Long Ren felt a bit bothered at her holding back before, now, as long as she had her fun, he'd be willing to follow along. He's not losing anything anyway, probably.
Long Ren once more, readied his stance, preparing to launch another punch, yet this time, he did so with two gauntlets.
*Swoosh Swoosh*
2 gauntlets flew subsequently through the air, both a few meters apart with his right leading the way as they homed on Yun Ning's body.
Yun Ning squinted her eyes, she now knew Long Ren could use something akin to space-step, using his gauntlet as the anchor and blinking to wherever it is.
Here in lies the problem, Yun Ning did not know whether this ability had a separate cooldown, like [Space Step], for each gauntlet, if it does, it'd be quite tricky.
Yun Ning motioned her right hand upwards as ice spikes grew from the arena, blocking the gauntlet's way, only for them to swerve around it, 'Homing as well…' Yun Ning thought as her wicked smile soon widened, 'The rat just got craftier,'
Yun Ning decided to charge head-on onto the leading gauntlet, wanting to encase it in ice. From her experience, Long Ren would not be able to teleport if an object blocks his way, her ice should do the trick for it.
As she neared it, almost touching the gauntlet, Long Ren teleported in and kicked her head, at least he tried to. Yun Ning anticipated him and quickly block the kick with her free left hand.
She deflected his kick, exposing his stomach, and changed her grip on her katana. She let her katana fall, gripped it backwards, and slashed at Long Ren's exposed stomach with unfathomable speed.
Seeing her slash, Long Ren tried dodging it yet her freezing aura prevails once more as his body can't react as fast as he commanded.
Her katana neared his stomach only to slash at nothing. Long Ren had successfully blinked away.
"Tch," Yun Ning snickered her mouth. She stood back up as she reverted her grip on her katana back and swung it once. "The rat has three blinks now, how fun." She said, her face having a condescending smile.
Long Ren only shrugged as a smile appeared on his face, "A rat's gotta do what a rat gotta do." He said as his gauntlets appeared back, equipped on both his hands. "Another one?" He said, clenching both his fist and positioning them to his eye level.
Yun Ning snickered, "But of course!"

Inside Diona's private training arena, multiple ice spikes and sculptures stood tall, permeating the room with a chilly aura. Some stayed pristine while others looked damaged.
Long Ren lay dead in the center, surrounded by dozens of ice spikes, some even impaling his body.
He panted as he supported his body on all fours, trying his best not to fall face-first onto a puddle of not-so-harmless water,
"huff…stop…I can't go on," Long Ren whimpered out,
"That's it? I thought you were a man!" Yun Ning exclaimed, not satisfied with her partner.
She swung her katana once, almost hitting Long Ren's face only to redirect it at the last second. It seemed like Long Ren really could not go for another round.
"And I thought you're a woman! You're the devil, I say! Devil!"
…
"Booo~" Yun Ning boo'd Long Ren, dismissing all her ice as Long Ren falls to the now-safe ground, almost fainting after their last clash.
Yun Ning moved and crouched right beside Long Ren's pale face, sweat covered his body as his robes were now tattered after the long spar, revealing most of his lean upper body. She lifted Long Ren up and took his upper shirt off.
She gazed at his bare and bruised body, multiple scars of her katana stayed on it as it spilled out a faint blue chilly aura. Her slashes painted his body with both big and small as well as shallow and deep cuts.
Yun Ning traced each of the cuts slowly. She gently manipulates her qi to absorb all the lingering aftereffects back. Back then, those aftereffects only serve as an annoying distraction, but not anymore.
She developed her slashes aftereffects after she discovered about Long Ren's unnaturally high regeneration.
They now helped in preventing her prey from stalling out by slowing down their recovery rate. It even works for recovery pills one might consume!
With these marks staying on Long Ren's body, he won't be able to recover as quickly as he used to, meaning bigger intervals of bullyi–sparring, *Uhum*, so it's better to remove them as soon as possible. Yep, sparring indeed.
After a while, she flipped his body over, turning his face towards hers. Yun Ning smiled sweetly as she treated his front upper body.
Although she tried to be as gentle as possible, absorbing the Qi from his scars still pained him quite a bit, but, he only clenched his teeth as it still felt way better than getting slashed at.
*Clap-Clap*
"There we go, all patched up," Yun Ning said as she dusted her hands. "Can you get up?"
Long Ren tried to move his body and failed, he could barely lift his hands, let alone his whole lower body. "I don't think so," He said wryly while showing an 'It's all your fault!' look towards her.
Yun Ning saw his glare and sheepishly smiled, mouthing 'my bad' while walking toward him and putting him on a piggyback ride.
…
"Wha…why this?" Long Ren asked, completely baffled.
"Hmn?" Yun Ning said as she looked back, their distance now closer than ever as Yun Ning could feel Long Ren's breath on her sweaty neck, "Why not? You can barely move right?"
…
"Can't you just let your master heal me, or give me a pill?" Long Ren sighed.
"Do you not like this?" Yun Ning asked, still not letting him go.
"Well, I just never expected you to do…this, of all things." Long Ren answered. He didn't hate it per se, it was just that he never expected to be the one on the receiving end, especially not with Yun Ning.
Yun Ning smiled, satisfied with his response, "Then it's all good.". She hummed happily as she piggy-backed Long Ren back to Diona's house.
