Bab 379: [Bonus Chapter] The Ashen Whisper (I)
Part 1: Rubble and Ruin
"Rumble… Brf…"
"Bella…"
"It's okay, you will be okay; it will be over soon," she whispered into the smaller girl's ear.
Barely kept dark hair, long and parted down the middle. Deep brown eyes winced, bracing through the rolling grumble of the earth. The girl, around eight years old, had her arms wrapped around a smaller girl.
Both were tucked in the corner of a building, sat down as the dust from the stone puffed out from the ceilings and the walls. The quake mellowed… then mellowed some more… till it was nothing at all.
The older girl sighed. "Come along Rena, it's over," she told, her voice soft and melodic, with a hint of curtness.
The little girl had her eyes tightly shut and her hands did not leave her ears; she still shivered as if the rumbling never stopped. The older girl gently took the little girl's wrists and pulled them away from her ears.

Eletro101 So, the initial idea for bonus chapters was, I'd release one massive chapter and split it into parts so that people can stop and continue at their leisure, like Okod's. That was the plan... But then I started writing for Arabella's story and realized I was hitting the 6k words mark and I hadn't even gotten to the middle part yet and rethought everything. As I was writing, I genuinely was feeling inspired and loved what I was writing(darker toned as it is), that it kept going. So, I'll be releasing these in parts, because I feel like a massive chapter will seem overwhelming tbh. Plus, if people want to reread or find it, it would be easier to navigate as well.

Just to be clear:
-The amount of words are the same whether split or in one chapter, so no coin value is lost on the reader's part.
-I'm aware I have a sporadic schedule and was coming back to a more consistent releasing schedule. I'm not going through burnout again, not to worry, I was just wanting to release this chapter as a massive one before I changed my mind; I've literally written nearly 4 chapters worth of words.
-We'll hopefully be jumping back to the main story by next week, but I hope people enjoy this mini-story essentially!
