Bab 292: I never found anyone

"Why does His Highness never remove his hand gloves?" Suzanne asked. She had noticed that Damien would not either remove those gloves while eating. That was strange.

Damien turned his gaze to her. "My entire hand is burned, so I try to keep it covered," he replied.

Suzanne stopped smiling and she wondered if his hand burned the night her father ordered to put the house on fire, where he lived. However, she did not dare to ask it.

"I hope the chieftain did not trouble Miss Barnard after that day," Damien quickly changed the topic of their conversation.

"No, he did not," Suzanne replied. "I am grateful to His Highness, who stopped the ceremony that day." She could never return such a big favor he did to her.

"That's nice to hear. Miss Barnard is a free bird again," Damien stated and passed a tiny smile to her.

"Brother Joss is looking for a suitor for me again. He said I would get men in their thirties," Suzanne stated.

"Why? You are beautiful," Damien asserted.
