Bab 272: I couldn't ignore her request

"Why is Prince Édouard suddenly heading to Bukenshun Town?" Christian asked with a puzzled expression.

Édouard quickly came up with a lie that was satisfying enough to make his father believe in him. Christian told Édouard to have a safe journey. "Did the Prince see his mother?" He asked.

"Yes, Father. I already informed Mother about this," he stated.

"Hmm. Tell me about the investigation after you return tomorrow," Christian asserted.

"Sure, Father." Édouard bowed to his father before heading to the ground where the carriage was present. His eyes fell on Charlotte, who had come to see him off.

"Don't forget to take your meals. In this water gourd, I have put hibiscus tea for you. Drink it as it will help you sleep. You cannot hide anything from your wife. I know you didn't sleep well last night," Charlotte said and handed him the gourd.

"Thank you for this tea," Édouard said and leaned down to kiss her when Charlotte stopped him.
