Gu Aihan's expression remained frozen, but the flicker in her eyes betrayed her growing rage.
Then, slowly, she began to chuckle.
It started as a soft sound but quickly escalated into a cold, almost maniacal laugh that sent chills down Jin Mu's spine.
"Ah, Jin Mu," Gu Aihan cooed, stepping closer and bending down to be at eye level with the bound woman.
"You've always been so clever. Too clever for your own good. You figured it out, I'll give you that." Her tone shifted, becoming darker, "But knowing the truth isn't going to save you."
In one swift motion, Gu Aihan's hand lashed out, her palm connecting hard with Jin Mu's cheek in a vicious slap.
The sharp crack of skin on skin reverberated through the empty space.
Jin Mu's head snapped to the side, her face stinging from the force of the blow, but she bit down hard, refusing to cry out or show weakness.
