Bab 221: Crazy Conversation
After resting for some time in the library, while spending some time with Liza just doing nerdy things. Alex stood up and left the library.
He was feeling a little bit sleepy, but what was the point of staying in the library anymore? A little stroll would wake him up a little.
Walking beside him was the succubus. She was still wearing just an oversized shirt, walking barefoot, still she was using her magic to protect her delicate feet.
"By the way, I can't believe that meathead actually believed your acting"
Liza uttered with a confused expression. She watched the match Alex played with Tony, and he was actually buying his acting, looking disappointed Alex wasn't that incredible.
Of course, everyone was disappointed, but that was just a small trick to slightly get the spotlights off him, but Tony actually believed that was quite confusing.
"He didn't even try to talk to you after that~"
Both still have some doubts about Tony's identity. However, nothing can be confirmed yet. It is better to play passively until the enemy makes a move.
"We still don't have any idea about Jane's brother too, so I'm not trying to engage with anyone"
Alex was still trying to get used to magic, although his human body had limits, so he couldn't really go himself to find out.
"Yeahh, you're right~"
The two kept strolling around, while chit chatting about random things. It was in the campus, but Alex decided to leave. He had no more lessons and also wanted to give a visit to Mary's store.
"H-Hey, fucking demon!"
However, a voice called them out suddenly from behind. It was empty of people, but the voice belonged to a familiar person.
With a frown, Alex turned around just to find a familiar face, still having some tiny bruises here and there, along with bandaids. It was Jake!
"Hey?"
The last time Alex saw him was in the hospital when he tracked him down. He also, with the help of Liza, cured his mother's curse and also healed some of his serious injuries, but here he was again, picking a fight.
"I d-don't want to fight, I just want to talk about the other demon..."
Although keeping an aggressive expression and insulting Alex, he hurriedly explained himself as he saw Alex's face getting cold.
"The other demon?"
Liza was surprised and curious after she heard the shaking boy shout. Jake was coming to talk, not to fight again, fortunately.
"Sure... Let's have a brief conversation"
Alex agreed and start walking towards a bench under a tree. Jake followed cautiously. He saw Alex's power after they fought before.
At the beginning when Alex just met Liza and Anna. The succubus was too careless at the time and showed Jake some demonic illusions, causing him to think Alex was a demon.
"I-It's that motherfucker Tony... He's a fucking demon just like you, p-please tell him to stay away from mother"
Alex sat down on the bench. However, Jake kept standing talking with trembling lips and looking around cautiously, worried Tony might just appear of thin air.
"What?... How is he a demon? What did he do to your mom? I don't get it"
Liza chuckled as she saw Alex playing dumb, although she was eager to know everything the airhead bully had to say, but she knew playing dumb in these situations was beneficial, too.
Tony could read Jake's memories too, so it was best to act stupid and ignorant.
"H-He a fucking demon too and he has been hunting me since you beat me that day... He came and started laughing..."
Unlike his usual cocky, aggressive manner, Jake fixed his gaze on the ground while slightly shaking. He was going crazy, of all the things that happened.
Turned out, he met Tony after he fainted on the ground behind the restrooms building. After Alex left, yet another demon appeared, which enjoyed his miserable state and wanted to see it more.
"He didn't s-show me his demon face like you, but he did some unusual things... Like forming fire in his hand.. His eyes glow red too. I'm not crazy, right?!!"
Seeing the silence state of Alex, Jake shouted helplessly as he was treated like a mad person. Although he was sure Alex wasn't normal, either.
"What should you do with him? It doesn't seem like he's lying, but he might just be too tired"
Liza sitting on the bench beside Alex, also staring at Jake, who was helplessly trembling. He clearly lacking sleep too.
"I don't care if you don't believe me!! Just one thing, stay away from my mother, fucking demons!!"
Not getting any reaction, Jake yelled at Alex. He was so caring for his mother, which confirmed that Tony was related to her curse.
"Should we wipe his memories? But as long this Tony around, he will just get beaten until he remembers it~"
Liza was clearly not fond of Jake, as she had a bad impression of him in the beginning. However, Alex was feeling a bit of sympathy.
"Okay, I will try to prevent him from hurting your mother again, don't worry"
Alex said as he extended his hand forward and soon Jake's body became heavy while his eyes closing. He fell asleep under magic!
Using extra efforts, Alex used his powers to drag him under the tree, laying on the grass with a nice breeze going.
"He needs to get some sleep first, then we can have a proper conversation"
Jake was barely getting any sleep, so his craziness was getting out of control. At least a nap on a nice day might help.
"That's so considerate of you. But ut you know we can't face Tony heads on even if he's a demon"
It was better to play passively, but Alex might just do something unpredictable, or that is what Liza thought. He just needed to keep him away from Jake's mother.
Walking aimlessly while pondering, Alex raised his head as he sensed someone walking towards him. A familiar aura he felt before.
"Speaking of the devil"
He muttered as he raised his eyes just to see the bulky man walking towards him with a smile, as if he knew he would find him there.
"Ayo! Have you seen that guy, Jake? I have some undone business with him~"
With a smirk and before he could get closer to Alex, he asked with a devilish grin. His expression told he was to no good...
