Bab 29: Rage
I used my full strength and punched him hard in the face. He went far away due to the punch's force. Liam almost fell but then he balanced himself. His nose was bleeding.
When he touched his nose and saw blood on his fingers, he fiercely looked at me.
His look made me angrier. I charged toward him once again. The moment I reached his face, he disappeared.
I looked around in rage but I could only see Mia standing at a distance. She was staring at me. It felt as if she wants to say something but I couldn't read her expressions since her face was covered with the mask. Only her eyes were visible. Her sight made my anger disappear. I took steps towards her. She was standing there motionless.
All of a sudden something came and hit me very hard before I could notice it, "Ahhhh."
I fell far away. I slowly got up from the ground. My back was hurting a lot. When I looked up Liam was standing there. I realized that the hit I got was from him.
I gritted my teeth in anger. But before I could hit him, his clones surrounded me. It was confusing to figure out the real one. I transformed and attacked them one by one. But each of them would disappear after my attack and then reappear. Then I remembered Mia's lesson.
She said, "Keep your focus on the scents and sounds surrounding you. Keep your focus."
With those words in mind, I closed my eyes and tried to focus on my surroundings. I sensed the strong scent of evil and knew that it was Liam. Besides, I sensed a sweet and pure scent that was pleasing to my mind. It was for sure Mia's.
Then I focused on Liam's evil scent and tried to figure out his location. I also sensed the sound of his breath. That's it I know where he is. I opened my eyes and charged forward. The moment I reached the clone I turned around and hit Liam who was on the left.
The clones disappeared and Liam fell to the ground. Something was shining on his wrist. When he was getting up, I rushed and pushed him down.
"You are indeed a great fighter", he said with a wicked laugh.
I wanted to smash him into pieces. The proud look in his eyes was disgusting. When I looked into his eyes I wanted to dig them out. His sight was making me angrier.
"Lin", Mia called out my name. I looked towards her and moved towards her. All of a sudden Mia rushed toward me.
She created a barrier shielding both of us. When I turned around, I saw Liam on the other side of the barrier with fireballs in his hands that were continuously hitting the barrier.
He stopped throwing the magical fireballs the moment he realized that Mia was the one to create the barrier.
Mia finished the barrier and stood there glaring at Liam. He knelt, "I am sorry, Your Highness. I didn't mean to harm you. Please, punish me."
Mia turned around and looked at me. She sat down close to me and started rubbing my head. I felt comfortable with her touch and started wriggling my tail like an obedient pet. She laughed.
"Liam, you may get up. There is no need to punish you. It was a common reaction to one's enemy. So, can you tell me if both of you knew each other before today? Because the way Lin reacted was not normal. He won't attack anyone like that. There must be a reason. Would you mind explaining?", Mia asked him.
I don't know what he will say but hope he doesn't speak any nonsense.
Liam got up from the ground, "Your Highness, you are right we do know each other and it's very generous of you to forgive me. He is the shareholder of the company with which I signed a contract for a partnership. From the beginning, he met me he had been trying to avoid me. Though I don't know why he hates me. I was shocked to see him here and that he is among the Magical Beasts."
Liar. You know why I hate you. When had I avoided you? You knew long ago that I am a Magical White Wolf.
Mia looked at me, "Then you better figure out why he is avoiding you or hates you because in the future the three of us had to work as a team. If a team doesn't work in harmony then they would have to face failure. So, it would be better for both of you to solve your problems at one time. If something wrong happened because of this reason I might punish both of you severely."
Mia got up from the ground. She looked at both of us, "You both are injured. Both of you come with me."
She took us to the healing tree and told both of us to sit beneath it. Liam went and sat there. I didn't want to sit with him.
Mia stared at me, "You better transform back and sit with him."
I didn't move.
"Lin, don't be stubborn. Go there hurry up."
Mia told me to sit with him again and again but I ignored her. At last, she used her magic and make me sit beneath the tree by force. I tried to move but couldn't.
She laughed, "Don't try to move. You can't move until you heal up."
The three of us were sitting there. It was annoying to sit next to the person I hate the most.
Although I couldn't see Mia's face it was clear that she would be enjoying seeing me getting annoyed.
Time passed like this. After we healed, Mia told Liam to leave and come back tomorrow.
"We all should leave now, Anyways, you both better introduce yourselves to each other as the Magical Beasts properly like gentlemen, when you both meet each other here tomorrow."
Liam went away. Mia started walking. I transformed back into my human form.
"Mia, I...", before I could complete my sentence she spoke angrily.
"Enough."
