Third Person's P.O.V
"Shall we proceed?" asked the deity as Vreihya was about to object, but with the snap of the deity's finger, Vreihya was instantly engulfed in darkness. The sanctuary's magnificent forest is gone.
She saw nothing but utter darkness everywhere she looked, yet there appeared to be a light centered solely on her. "Mino! Kypper!" she exclaimed as she looked behind her, but she saw nothing.
"Circa!" exclaimed the princess as she realized her companions were not present. "They have their own journey," the deity simply remarked, her gaze fixed on the princess. "Where did we end up last?" she asks, which appears to be a lazy remark. She placed her fingers on her chin to show that she is contemplating something.
"No!" exclaimed the princess, knowing just what the deity was up to. She was about to attack when the deity waved her hand, and Vreihya appeared to crash into a gigantic mirror. It broke in her body, and her surroundings changed abruptly.
She was holding her arm that had hit what appeared to be a glass mirror earlier while observing where she was currently standing. While she stood under the shade of a huge tree, a cool breeze enveloped her body.
She took a cursory look at the woodlands visible from the hill she was standing on. It appears to be spring at this time because the trees in the area are beginning to turn green, indicating that it is time for their leaves to blossom again.
She was perfectly aware of where she is and what kind of memory this is. This is the memory she does not want to revisit. The sun is shining brightly, and there are few to no clouds in the sky, making this their favorite time to meet.
"You got into another fight! I said I don't want a man who likes to brawl!" Vreihya turned around swiftly when she heard a voice behind her. She spotted a girl in a blue dress and a boy leaning against a giant tree, separated by a few distance. Even at such a young age, it is impossible to deny that he will grow into a gorgeous and handsome young man.
She smiled bitterly as she saw her younger self, while looking at the young man in front of her, who was biting on Loreka, her favorite fruit. "I didn't start it, Ihya, don't be irritated with me," the lad explained instantly, but the young princess only raised an eyebrow.
Vreihya felt ecstatic when she heard her friend call her by that nickname again. It had been a long period of time since she had been addressed as such, which was like melody to her ears because the prince had called her as such once more.
"Come on, Ihya, don't be angry; you won't talk to me again because of this," the boy urged her as he reached out to her with the Loreka he had bitten, which she gladly accepted. "What's your excuse now?" the young princess said frankly. Vreihya couldn't help but smile when she saw what was in front of her.
"He said we wouldn't end up together, so I made his nose bleed," the young prince stated in distaste, which the young princess soon laughed at while gently hitting the displeased prince's arm, who violently tore the leaf he had picked up from the grass he was sitting on.
"They are not the ones who will tell our fate, and no one can dictate to us," replied the young princess cheerfully, calming the young prince's mood. "Really?" the prince's voice seemed to light up in response to the princess's remarks. "Of course, let's simply wait until we're at the right age," the princess said joyfully.
Vreihya's heart seemed to ache as she recalled her beautiful relationship with the young prince. This is the point in time when she is unaware that a cruel truth is looming behind her. It appears that she simply wishes to remain in this time where she knows nothing and longs solely for the pleasure of meeting her friend.
As Vreihya stood there, it was like watching a fast-paced movie that showed her how many times the young prince met with her and talked under the great tree. She witnessed every fun, argument, and teasing, as well as their secret glances at each other, numerous times.
It appears she was given a chance to feel her life again when she was a kid with the prince, but the princess embraced herself even though she was still wearing a thick coat since as it seemed twice as frigid around her.
The surrounding verdant trees and luxuriant flora had vanished. The old grass is now fully covered in white snow, which thoroughly cools the surroundings and even her emotions. She felt a searing pang in her heart as this recollection began to play out in her mind.
She saw her younger self dressed warmly and thickly, while the young prince knelt in front of her, who no longer required a thick cloth to fight the cold. She noticed the young prince's shoulder trembled as he began to cry. "Aren't we made for one other?" he sobbed, and the young princess just shook slightly in response.
Her mother instructed her not to cry in front of her friend. She should fortify oneself in order to cut whatever they are feeling right now. She should be strong enough to let go of the budding feeling that is warming their hearts. Despite the fact that the little princess appeared to want to cry, she attempted to control her feelings.
She practiced this confrontation numerous times in order to avoid crying. "We're simply friends, Calix," she added seriously, even though she wanted to embrace and comfort him. She has feelings for him, but when she discovered the truth, she had to discard it.
"Don't you like me?" shouted the prince, causing the snow to fall faster and the chilly wind to blow harder, and the young princess held herself. "I only want you as a friend," the little princess whispered softly, biting her lips to avoid crying.
"But-" the prince began, but was cut off by the princess's screams. "It's up to you! If you don't want to be just friends, don't come near me!" shouted the princess, reassuring herself not to show her friend her sorrowful emotions.
"IHYAAAA!" exclaimed the prince right away. "DON'T DO THIS TO ME!" he wailed as he collapsed to the ground. He began kicking the snow off his feet and wiping his numb eyes frantically.
Vreihya appears to have been struck with a dagger as she watches herself and even the young Calix again. "Hug him, Vreihya," the princess instructed her younger self. "Please comfort him!" she exclaimed forcefully, as though pleading with her childhood self.
She couldn't help but cry as she looked up at the frozen tree. This scene left a significant scar in her life. How many times did she regret not even warming his friend's heart? Until now, she appeared to want to hug him, apologize, and explain herself.
"Please, Vreihya, embrace him firmly and halt him from crying," she said quietly as she glanced at her younger self again as the prince kneeled in the freezing snow, wailing. What she witnessed drove the princess to tears. She felt sorrow for the prince because as he appeared to have fallen madly in love with her at a young age, which is why he was wounded so early on.
While there was still a trace of snow on his face, the heartbroken prince looked at her again. He stopped crying and glanced at the little princess, who wanted to cry and hug her mother because she couldn't bear the pain she was causing her friend.
"I will court you till we grow old! Am I not your mate Ihya? Am I not the only one?" the young princess cried as she glanced away, her tears trailing down. She seemed to want to say that the prophecy has altered and that he is no longer the one who is meant to be with her.
Vreihya turned away completely because she couldn't bear the thought of seeing what was going on in their past. It appeared to remind him of how Calix had wooed her for several years, but it also reminded him that they were merely friends since she couldn't afford to lose the prince and breach the arrangement she and his uncle had made.
The deity, on the other hand, grinned once more at what she saw. As she watches the princess gently kneel down as the surroundings darken, she appears to desire to relive a past. She could clearly hear the princess's weeping while clutching her chest.
"This is going to hurt a lot," stated the deity casually, grinning and shaking her head.
