Bab 223: Perfect machine of flesh and blood

Thiago and Alina had already left, so the three of them relocated to Thiago's bedroom where Vice set up everything on the workstation. He worked in silence, head bent over the keyboards and touchpads -- he didn't have Thiago's graceful efficiency, but he was competent. 

"We can leave, if you want," Davi said, for the second time. "You could watch the reel on your own."

Ivo just shook his head. He didn't want to face whatever was going to show up on the screens alone. 

"It's ready," Vice said, stepping away from the workstation to stand at Ivo's shoulder.

There was a reel paused on the central monitor of the console. The cursor glowed like a threat. 

Ivo knew he was going to make himself watch whatever was in that footage; there was no point in delaying the inevitable. He just wished he could dispel the feeling that he was about to watch his own execution.

He took a deep, fortifying breath, and nodded towards Vice. "Do it."
