Bab 115: Show in the Rain

Jumping over the fence and bolting pass the group of gathered guards, the horse headed straight for the manor's main entrance. It really was a blur, moving too fast for Daphne to even register what had been happening. 

Even from behind a pane of glass, Daphne could hear the loud neighing as the charcoal colored horse skidded to a halt. It had been galloping at full speed, so its front hooves skid along the wet stone as its rider suddenly pulled back on its reigns. 

Daphne didn't know when it had first started raining, but the ground outside was entirely soaked. 

The man on the horse was entirely soaked. His usually messy dark hair was matted to his forehead, beads of water dripping onto his forehead and into his eyes. The tip of his usually ghostly pale face was pink, and his beautiful amber eyes were tinted with a layer of scarlet.
