Bab 728: The Mind Intruder

Carolyn's POV:

As I regained my composure, the prison guards surrounded us with weapons. Several tranquilizer darts were swiftly shot at the black wolf, but it just shook its body, causing those pitiful little needles to fall off without any effect.

After returning to normal, the sharp teeth in front of me made me instinctively guard myself, but the wolf's voice relaxed me again the next second.

"I apologize for offending you, Ms. Carolyn," he sounded somewhat urgent. "There was an evil creature trying to invade your body just now, and in an emergency, I had to use this offensive approach to drive it away."

His voice sounded just like Yarin's butler, Soil.

He released me and silently retreated to sit on the side.

"Are you Spil's wolf?"

"... Yes, Miss."

I signaled the prison guards to stand down; he was on our side.
