Zavi Coville
Vanora was damn hot tonight. Do you know how I've been controlling myself around her? For fuck sake, she shouldn't be too close cos I might rip her dress off of her and fuck her in a way she'd never imagined.
She made me forget so many things, she made me forget that I was gonna meet some people who I detested in life. I was drawn back to reality immediately after I saw him.
Matteo Luciano.
My blood boiled in me when I saw him.
"Long time no see, old friend." He said to me as he took out his hand for a handshake. He was smiling and I was boiling. I tried so hard to calm down in front of him.
I found myself taking his hand and said, "Nice to meet you, Matteo Luciano." I seriously hated the last name. If my dad hadn't befriended his dad back in the day, he wouldn't have the balls to stand in front of me.
Looks like he saw that I knew he was a fake, so fake in everything, so he said, "I'm happy that you're finally back, friend. Though I don't think you're really happy to see me." I was happy he knew I didn't find him entertaining.
His eyes drifted off to Nora. There was silence as I watched him, he stiffened, Nora wasn't exempted either. From those eyes, I was starting to know what I should have known long ago. She's the one. The one Matteo had been looking for. Her eyes matched his, goddamn it!. I didn't realize that earlier, I was just lost in thought of Anita that I hadn't looked into Vanora the more.
And this is not good.
I looked at Davina, "Davina, take Nora with you," I commanded. Alec understood something was off.
I was silent till they were out of sight.
"We have to talk, Zavi," Matteo stated. My hands clenched.
"Not here," I told him. I looked at Alec and gave him a sigh to follow Vanora. We walked out on the eyes that were looking at us.
Standing opposite him in a dark arena, I knew things were not gonna be okay.
"She's the one, right?." He asked.
Oh, he went straight to the point.
"Don't think that I'm gonna let her go," I warned sternly.
"I've not started yet, Zavi." He stated with a smile, "I've been waiting for you to come home."
I didn't say a word.
"Now you do know I've been watching you for many years," My eyes started to furrow, "Should i call this fate?."
He wiped his face with his right hand and continued, "You traveled far, left your mafia in the hands of your cousin, but after you met Anita's lookalike, you returned feeling like she's returned from the dead. And then, you do not know it was her, my half-sister."
I look up at him.
"You had better not touch a hair on her head, Matteo. She's off-limits." I threatened.
He came closer to my face, "You knew how long I've been looking for her, Zavi. She's the one who completes my quests for power. After all, she's my sister. We share the same blood."
"You killed her mother, I won't let you touch her." I snarled.
"No, friend. You did. I wanted her gone and you pulled the trigger, remember?." I froze. It was the truth, I had killed the woman. It was one of my deadly moments. Vanora's mom was the first woman I killed in my life.
He chuckled, "What will you do?, should I tell her?." He grinned.
"Don't you dare?"
He laughed.
"She completes me, I won't rest until I kill her too." He said, and hit my shoulder playfully, "Nice suit." He mumbled and walked away.
I stood there like a complete idiot. I fucking killed her mother, so that is, I am the one she hates the most.
Fuck.
I should have let her go. I should have looked into her, I should have. If I had found out in Scotland, I wouldn't have kept her by my side. I would have hidden her in a place that no one would find.
I had a spy. I knew I had one but I don't know who. Wallace can't break omerta because he knows the out-turn. He doesn't even know this Vanora girl, I had looked into her myself. Who the fuck had given him details about what goes on in my life?
My suspicion led to one person, but I would never say she's the one. But the spy must be someone close to me.
I walk back in search of Vanora, I see her with Davina and look at Alec.
"What does he want?." He asked me.
"Her." I stopped a waiter and took a glass from him.
He looked at me, worried for Nora, "Why?."
"You remember the girl Matteo was looking for?." I asked him, and he tried to remember, and I saw him frown once it hit him.
"She's Vanora, she's Vanora Luciano." I finished, taking a sip.
He was shocked, "We have to find her," I told him quietly.
Confusion crosses his face, "Find who?."
"The spy," I answered him and walked away.
I stopped a few steps away from Vanora.
"You're very observant, Nora," Davina told Nora. I wanted to listen.
"Zavi didn't think so." She replied to him. I scoffed.
Davina laughs, "Don't mind him."
"He's a dick, annoying, and an ass," She continued, I smiled as I watched her raise her glass to her lips.
"Am I?." I asked. She stopped drinking and looked at me, finally she noticed me standing and listening to her conversation.
I smirked.
"Excuse me," Davina said and walked away.
I came to stand closer to her looking around and noticed all eyes on us.
"I see you're getting quite a stare from everyone." I stated and sipped my wine again.
"That's what I get from being your date."
I smiled and said, "This is my first time bringing a date to a party." She was stunned.
"Really?."
"I wouldn't lie, beautiful." She blushed and looked away.
"Vanora," I called slowly.
"Yes, boss."
I cleared my throat, "Would you like to dance?." Her dazzling eyes rose, she looked at the hand I had taken out for her.
"I don't know how to dance." She replied.
"Then follow my lead, Bellissima." We dropped the glasses on the tray.
She took my hand and I led her to the dance floor.
