Odon Durston had only seen the back of the person that tried to eliminate Damien. He didn't get to see who it was. But he knew it was a man and a very high-ranking rebel from the way he was dressed.

Verona Edilanti: "It's the vice-leader of the rebels."

Odon Durston: "Marty, I will kill you if I get out of this situation alive."

It wasn't just Verona and Odon but also many others who were cursing Marty. They were mentally communicating with him, and he had no way of stopping their curses from pouring into his mind. He could do nothing but silently endure their mental abuse, not replying to them, just sinking deeper into his thoughts.
