There were no visible openings that could be seen or intercepted by the eyes of someone lesser than a novice.
He had a good knowledge of swords from Lloyd's memories, which couldn't be denied. For him, it felt like he knew everything and nothing at the same time.
The reason behind that was simple: he knew the theory but lacked experience and implementation. He could swing his sword fancily and train without any problem with his knowledge, but when it came to real combat, he didn't hold a candle.
Previous Lloyd had some combat experiences, but they were far inferior to the current combat that was taking place right now.
He had everything that an ideal swordsman needed: talent, skills, equipment, and more. But he lacked one thing that was causing him to be pushed back helplessly, and that was the experience.
Experience was the most important thing for a swordsman, or any warrior in general, and he lacked it.
Not that he hadn't fought, but the amount could be counted on our fingertips and wasn't enough to provide any kind of experience. Furthermore, the current Lloyd did not have any past experience at all.
'How the hell am I supposed to overpower!'
He tried his best to find any kind of opening in it, but no matter what he tried, he failed. For him, it was like an impenetrable wall.
He tried his best to find a crack in the wall but couldn't succeed.
With each clash of their swords, he was being pushed back even further. But he could neither parry nor launch an attack even once, as he felt powerless in front of it.
The golem kept attacking him violently with no sign of stopping.
He couldn't even keep up with its sword. He was only able to block the sword from tearing him apart only at the last moment.
He was using his swift and confusing footwork to stay at a safe distance from the golem, but even that was gradually closing in as the golem relentlessly pursued him.
"Fuck!"
The golem aimed a heavy blow at Lloyd's head. Lloyd, noticing the attack at the very last moment, quickly tilted his sword and raised it over his head, using it as a shield to block the golem's attack.
The shock from the sword was so powerful, he felt it throughout his body, but it didn't matter as he successfully saved his head from getting split.
*huff* *huff*
Lloyd was already quite tired from the beginning and, due to the exhausting duel that was going on, his strength was being drained even further.
"How am I even going to defend myself when I am like this?"
Lloyd was getting exhausted with each passing second. On the contrary, the golem looked the same as before.
Sweat was pouring down his body like a waterfall, his breathing was becoming shallow, and his once precise and quick movements were now becoming slow and clumsy.
In his exhausted state, the golem showed no mercy on Lloyd. It kept attacking him with its sword from left and right, up and down. Lloyd, out of options, tried to block and fend off those violent attacks.
In his current state, he couldn't fend off those violent attacks for much longer. Some of the attacks even began to penetrate his defense and gave him shallow cuts on his body. He was only able to dodge them in time, otherwise, he would have sustained serious injuries.
The spar was so intense that he didn't even have the time to grunt in pain, not even for a second. They only kept on going as the golem got more fierce and merciless with each passing moment.
Lloyd was so overwhelmed by the golem that he hadn't launched an offensive throughout the entire spar. The simple reason behind this was that he was overwhelmed by the difference in their skills and experience. The only reason he was able to hold against the golem's sword was that their physical strength was equivalent in every aspect.
The Golem pulled back its sword and lunged at Lloyd with all its strength, targeting his abdomen. Lloyd managed to dodge it, but this time he received a shallow cut above his waist.
"Shit!" He cursed.
Though the cut was shallow, it induced a burning sensation around that area which made him grunt.
This sharp pain also caused him to get distracted from the golem and left him even more vulnerable.
"Should I intervene now or wait and observe? But things may get worse," She thought pensively, tapping her chin in concern as she keenly watched the large screen in front of her, which displayed the battle between Lloyd and the golem, as she worried about the outcome of the fight.
"I will observe for now and intervene when necessary." She decided.
She closely monitored their battle to make sure nothing went wrong. If something were to happen that would potentially threaten Lloyd, she would neutralize it without a second thought.
The golem began to launch heavy blows at him, causing him to fall back further, which worried her. He now had no way to dodge the golem's attacks.
'What should I do now? I'm cornered and there is no possible escape,' Lloyd thought.
He stood there, cornered, holding his sword defensively against the golem. He was exhausted and only had enough strength to handle a few more hits from it.
He was trapped, with walls on all sides, and in front of him stood his current nightmare, the golem. We could without a doubt say that he had reached the end of the rope as his all escapes were closed.
There was only one option left for escape, and that was by using force. He had no other choice but to create an opening by using force and pushing back the golem to escape.
'There is no other choice I have. I gotta do it.'
He gulped down a mouthful of saliva as he tightened his grip on the sword. His eyes showed nervousness and a lack of confidence, but he knew, he had to attack nonetheless.
After a moment of hesitation, he made a quick move to trick the golem by feinting at its right shoulder, followed by a swift kick to its gut, to create a gap between them and escape.
But the unexpected happened, it dodged it by moving to its left. The golem had already predicted this move. Not only did it dodge it, but it also tripped him instantly.
"What!" He exclaimed in shock and pain as he hit the floor as hard as concrete. He was in disbelief at how quickly it had happened, in just mere seconds.
'My sword... I can't even reach it
He tried to reach his sword without getting caught by golem eyes but sadly it was out of his reach.
*****
That's it. This is my first chapter with some action I know it's bad but that's what I can do for now. My skills will improve gradually as I gain more experience.
