Then, Black Eyes clutched my shirt, his grip firm but his eyes filled with a complex mix of anger, regret, and perhaps a tinge of realization or sorrow. Fast Fists remained close behind, maintaining her grip on me, though her hold was less aggressive and more contemplative.

"Maybe... but that doesn't change anything," Black Eyes hissed, his anger still evident, punctuating his words with a hard punch to my jaw that sent me sprawling to the ground, coughing as I clutched my aching face.

"You see, with all your punching and kicking, and I'm not sure if it's technically interrogating, you've wasted time. You should've killed me, but... it's too late now," I chuckled, slowly beginning to crawl to my feet.
