Geoffrey grasped her hand and pulled her against him. Then, with her body pressed on his, he lowered his head to whisper in her ear, "Seeing you looking like this makes me feel like going to the ball would be a waste."
Serena blushed, based on how she could feel Geoffrey's manhood through the layers of cloth she was wearing, she doesn't doubt the authenticity of his words. However, she wasn't sure what to think. In truth, it's not that she really wanted to attend the ball, yet at the same time, she knew the importance of doing so.
Again, if she doesn't make an appearance, it would only arouse more suspicion that Geoffrey only made the admission because he wanted to protect her. Well, if one were to think of it, even if she doesn't the case would still be the same. Still, it would be worth the effort to try.
Geoffrey, being able to surmise what she's thinking of, sighed then kissed her forehead. "We should go." He decided for the both of them.
