The gun barrel had turned a dangerous glowing red, but Patrick was still firing. The high-temperature deformed barrel could explode at any moment due to the bullets fired, and what was more dangerous was the possibility of the bullets that weren't fired yet being prematurely detonated by the high temperature, having nowhere to go, causing a fatal explosion.
"It's going to burst!"
Malcolm couldn't help but shout again, although he knew the bullets couldn't stop, his eyes fixated on the increasingly bright barrel, he couldn't help but yell.
"It's really going to explode!"
Malcolm also knew he shouldn't hide, but the knowledge that a not very powerful but potentially lethal bomb was brewing, and could explode at any moment, made him instinctively want to stay away.
Carrying a chain of ammunition, Malcolm nevertheless couldn't approach the machine gun; it was probably the instinct to survive that caused this, his mind was telling him to go and reload, but his legs wouldn't obey.
