Bab 316: **Ch 331: Mindful Attitude

Nevertheless, he stole my breath away, and I so desperately needed to take a breather.

"I can't wait to touch you. Not just the invisible spirit of you," Kai uttered softly after he slowly pulled his lips and hands away before we giggled together. "It's nice to hear you giggle."

"Can I ask you something?" I brought up.

"Anything," he simply answered.

"Do you know anything about the Mill Coven?" I questioned him to see if he did.

"I do!" His eyes darken "Stay away from them if they are in the future. They aren't safe. They're no longer our friends anymore."

"What do you mean by "anymore?" my baffled voice says.

"Our Covens used to be like a family. We were once inseparable." Kai clarified with sadness indicated through his voice.

I asked as I was shocked to hear this new information. "What happened that made you enemies?"

"I haven't told you?" His brow raised.

"No, I only recently found out their evil," I confessed.

"Well then, I'll tell—"

"Who are you talking to?" Glenn appeared and questionably gawked at Kai.

"To myself," Kai told him with a straight face.

"Right," Glenn muttered, and you could tell he thought Kai had gone nuts.

"Or maybe he was talking to his stupid mate!" Rose quoted her fingers, after she dashed herself here from being who knows where. She wore a hooded linen dress that was entirely black and laced in sparkly fabrics down her figure.

Kai hissed at her, clenching his fist because he was getting very annoyed. "Get off my back and shut up!"

"No! You deserve my wrath, and your mate deserves death!" Rose defied him with her bolshie temperament.

"Watch it!" Kai growled. "That's your future Queen you are threatening!"

Kai was beyond furious, yet the Kai from my timeline was more truculent, and it made him intractable to manage. His younger self appeared to be more mindful and sensible in his attitude. My time-gap placed me right within the timeline in which Kai hasn't lost himself in despair from not being able to find me.

"Go easy on her, Kai." I emitted my ghostly voice in. "Rose and I are good friends in the future. She doesn't mean anything she tells you. She's only acting out because she's heartbroken."

Kai's face went from visibly red to a mellower complexion. Only the sound of my voice was enough to settle him, which proved he had it together for now.

"Quit wasting the use of your tongue, Rose. Go back with the vampiresses!" Kai ordered with his strong Alpha tone. His Alpha authority spoke with such potency that the tiny hairs on my arms stood high.

Unlike the calm Rose in my timeline, the younger Rose was bitterly sullen. Her recalcitrant behavior was like a child having a tantrum. She stomped her sandals in the sand before she was gone from everyone's sight. Poor Glenn stood there with this awkward expression.

"Was there something you wanted to say?" Kai questioned him since he seemed to have his tongue in a knot.

"Right, your dad wanted me to get you," Glenn informed. "We need to suit up for battle. The Headmaster wants to leave earlier so we can meet with our allies in advance. The vampiresses will be taking the little ones east from the battle."

"I'll be there in a second." Kai acknowledged, and Glenn disappeared after nodding his head.

"War is still going on," I stated.

"We're still fighting for our territories," Kai sighed. "It's only been five years since I found out you're my mate."

"I notice Rose is still giving you a hard time. I'm surprised Ace hasn't told her the truth yet," I mentioned.

"Unfortunately, he's kept it from her. I've been so close to banishing her," Kai replied, rather frustrated.

"Don't do that!" I giggled at his frustration.

"If she wasn't a female or my friend's mate. I would've done it already," he replies, certainly annoyed.

"Give her time. You guys are good friends in my timeline," I shared. "But she is always on your back about something."

"Of course she is!" Kai rolled his annoyed eyes until he smiled. "Before you fade out, tell me how much longer must I have to wait to find you?"

"Well—"

"Wait, don't tell me!" he shouted and was quick to change his mind. "I don't want to know too much. Tell me what I named you instead."

"Victoria." I didn't have the heart to tell him he doesn't raise me.

"Victoria..." my name hummed off his tongue mellifluously. "I love it. I've always had good taste."

"You are always full of yourself too!" I giggled with him.

"It's part of being a male vampire." Kai chuckled, and then he flattered me. "Your giggles are so beautiful, by the way. I can't wait to actually meet you."

"In a matter of time, you will. No matter what, hold on to that hope." I told him with the hope it will maybe help ease the emotional torture he'll face from not finding me any time soon.

"One more thing before you fade. If my harsh words ever make you cry or hurt you in any way. The easiest way to settle me down, is just hug me and kiss me," Kai shared.

"You say that like you have experience," I giggled. I'm sure before me, he's had a fair share of lovers in his life.

Kai chuckled. "I don't mean it like that. It will only work for you because you are my mate. Over any female, I'll take on the many worlds for you alone. Your loveable affection will instantly snap me out of my anger."

"Next time you're being Mr. Grumpy, I'll remember that!" I laughed.

"Is that what you call me?" Kai chuckled harder.

"Not outwardly, I don't think, but I say it in my head," I shared, giggling.

"Say it to my face. I have a sense of humor. I'm not always uptight," Kai informed me, in which case, I already knew.

"Yes, at times you act like Rome," I rolled my eyes with a giggle.

Kai cracked up. "I'm glad to hear he hasn't changed."

"No. Rome is still childish and annoying." I laughed at that remark.

"He wouldn't be Rome if he wasn't," Kai said earnestly.

"I couldn't agree more with you." I smiled until the landscape started to fade. "I'm leaving, Kai!"

"It's ok. I'll see you soon." He comforted me as he tried to hide his saddened expression. "I love you, Victoria."

"I love you too, Kai," I uttered naturally, and my heart leaped.

"Remember what I told you..." Those were the last words I heard him say before I found myself staring at the ceiling. Blood was pouring from my nose, and I rushed to the bathroom to clean it. Afterward, I went back to bed, and my mind kept replaying our conversation until I felt my eyes were getting heavy.

As a forewarning, the next chapter will be very rough and gory. Read it at your own risk. The disturbing inspiration came from a scary movie but I can't remember the movie. It's supposed to be scary, but my scary always comes out more gory and disturbing. I'd advise to skip it if your sensitive to this kind of stuff. If you read it, do read it carefully and allow the events to play out. Thanks for the power stones. Please leave a review to help my ratings.
