(A/N: Just saying, I won't make each rally in such detail later on. I just made it like this as it is the first time I have written about a Volleyball Game. So expect later chapters pertaining to games being less long and drawn out.)

If he wanted to score more, he'd have to step up his game and get a little more aggressive. Hayato stepped back a step, watching as the opposition served. Another floater, it seemed.
"Floater! Steady fingers, remember!" Izumi struggled a little as he clasped his fingers on the ball, getting it into the air. Falling a little short, Hayato arrived in time, his eyes glancing at the ball above him. Who? Koji for pipe? Kawashima? No… Hinata. They wouldn't expect it.
The tall boy yelled out. "Mikan! Act quick!"
Mikan, was a nickname of his for Hinata, due to that strangely colored hair. The mikan, is a type of orange fruit also referred to as the Satsuma Mandarin. It was a pretty tasty fruit, but that wasn't really the point.
*Fwosh!*
Hayato's arms blasting out, the ball shot out in all its splendor, as to the left line, Hinata approached. His legs pumping, the young boy flew through the air as the blockers attempted to rush towards him. No blockers and a free court. A wonderful play.
*Bam!*
Rammed down the side of the court. Hinata's hand tingled red, and a large smile adorned his face, he skidded to a stop before the net. It was their first true kill of the match. It was his first kill ever. Hayato and the rest ran over in celebration. It was as if they'd already won the match.
"Yeah! Nice kill!"
"Awesome!"
Hinata's eyes were sparkling even more brilliantly, like that of a diamond at sunrise. "It came to me! The ball… Arrived in my hand! I hit it down! Hayato-san!!!!"
"Good job. Keep on bringing it, and we've got a set." Hayato bent down, picking the ball up.
It was [4-5] now, and Hayato intended to level it out now. Above, the roar of the crowd was becoming even more deafening as people reacted to this unexpected development.
"Yuki…. Gaoka? Yukigaoka. Never heard of it. Didn't know they had a good team."
"Naw… It's a two man show, the rest of them are sorta lame."
"Did you see that hit! The shorty managed to hit that!"
"No. 7 is a one man army. He's got that sick vertical. And those blocks."
Tanaka's blood boiled as he watched the display. It was clear now what team he was rooting for. "Nice kill shrimp! Let's go!"
Daichi and Sawamura watched in muted silence as they watched the team excite themselves in victory. That set had been for the most part, quite flawless. It was unexpected and out of the blue, which made it all the more effective.
But something that unnerved them everytime they looked at it, was that strength. To be able to send the ball across the court at that speed…. And for that short orange-haired child to be able to spike such a set.
Two monsters. That was all they could say.
"Those two are abnormal, I'd say," Daichi said, laughing a bit.
"Ah… The young ones are really catching up. What am I going to do ...." Sighing dramatically, Sugawara scratched his cheek.
Kawashima stepped up to serve, his face drenched in sweat. He was the most decent server of the bunch besides Hayato, so the rest of the team displayed much confidence in him. Taking a deep breath, he attempted to clear his mind.
Bouncing the ball against the wooden floor, he looked up at the bright ceiling lights, before tossing the ball into the air. Open hand coming up, he slapped the ball, watching as it flew over the net.
"I got it!" Someone shouted as they dug the ball. It went a few paces to the side of Kageyama, who strode back to get it. He set the ball out in a low arc behind him, the opposite growling in annoyance as it flew towards him. Another shoot set, it seemed.
Hayato burst into action, striding across the court floor before jumping, his hand flicking the ball down.
"Mine!" Pushing the opposite aside, the libero dove down, scooping the ball back behind them. Running from his post by the net, Kageyama set a tight ball in a high arc into the air. The outside ran off, leaping into the air as he attempted to wack it down. Grazing off the guy's fingertips, somehow Mori had gotten a hang on it, and it was back in the air.
"Nice bump!" Calling out, Hayato arrived before the ball. He was still front row, so he could jump up and slam it back over…. But perhaps that wasn't the best course of action.
"Here! Here! Here!" From the other side of the court, Hinata's sneakers screeched against the court as he stepped back, waving his hand into the air.
Should he….? Shaking it off, Hayato's hands set the ball up in a graceful arc as Hinata took off.
Shoyo Hinata faced an insurmountable wall before him. Those six hands reached over the net. Though he'd been shut down only once, it had quite the effect on him. Not that he could stay gloomy for long. After all, he wanted to play more, and not let his teammates down.
His eyes reflecting the radiance of the ball, he took his first step. How had he gotten past the block to get his first kill? He really hadn't it was a matter of surprise and speed that had caught the front row off guard.
Wait. Speed.
What had Hayato said that one time? "If you go faster, you'll jump higher, at least, that's how it is for most people. Reaching the ball at its highest point and slamming it over the blockers is the most satisfying thing ever."
*Woom!*
Exploding off the ground in a rapid approach, he flew once more. Rocketing straight up into the air, the blockers widened their eyes as they went up. Hands over the net, they watched as Hinata's palm made contact with the ball.
Perfect.
*Wam!*
Hayato watched, letting out a whistle as it blasted down the legs of the back row outside. Honestly, he hadn't expected Hinata to do that. And even if he did, he thought that it wouldn't have been that good of a touch. It seemed he'd underestimated his monster of a friend once more.
If the shorty kept up the work, maybe they would be able to win this…Pacing over Hayato high-fived Hinata. High-fives, or the slapping of hands was a common gesture of good work in the sport of Volleyball, among other things.
