Bab 121: Resolve

"He's created such a fuss leading his men here and now that he's closing in on us he just stops abruptly and stares in our direction, what the hell," yelled one man.

"It's creeping me out too," muttered another in Pierre's ragtag group of men.

Pierre asked, "Does anyone have a clue who these men are?"

No answer. The sun was brutal in the sky and those men just looked unfazed in the heat. The leader especially looked like a statue. It was unnatural how still he was and that he hadn't broken a sweat. The rest of the men were clearly human as they wiped away their perspiration but they didn't make it too obvious for fear of drawing the ire from their leader.

Pierre's group saw them coming from the left as they were coming from the right. They were riding huge oxen and they kicked up dust as they rode across the land. Only slowing down when they saw that She and Pierre's men were regarding these newcomers with fear.
