Bab 96: Pacifying

Given that Princess Kate was still someone with a high reputation and had a lot of connections, Chris didn't dare to blame her at all.

However, that wasn't the same for Lei Zhen, who he knew was just a poor man scamming his 3 copper coins.

"Where's Lei Zhen? Is he really that heartless to ignore me now that he got a high rank?" Chris asked angrily.

And he continued, "I knew I shouldn't have trusted him. As expected, everyone is just backstabbers once they make their fortune."

"No, you got it wrong, Chris." Kate raised her hand and shook her head.

"Lei Zhen is just resting in the guest room and you should know that when he rests, we aren't allowed to bother him." She added, reminding him of the time when he was in the tent previously.

Although still a bit angry, Chris understood this explanation wasn't made up.

After all, he saw Lei Zhen sleeping in the tent for so many days and didn't bother coming out.
