Bab 29: Clearing the Dungeon

A bright sun appeared behind Truks as his Supreme skill activated. He held a stone mask in his hand and a bright red gemstone in the other. The timer started to count down as he socketed the gem into the mask, waiting for the mask to synchronize with the gemstone.
"Kid, Dragon, focus all your attacks on the main boss," Treech ordered calmly.
He had a feeling something like this might happen. This could be considered the 'second stage'. But either way, he would try to finish off the boss before it could transform completely. Dragon rushed over first but was blocked by the earth pilar-man from reaching Truks. Prince was in the air already, preparing to dropkick his way in as usual.
'Without both of them focusing on Truks, we won't be able to stop them. I'll have to delay him a bit, and weaken our next fight by taking down the earth pillar-man.' Treech considered carefully.
"Kid, change of plans. Focus on the earth pillar-man with Dragon. I'll delay the other." Treech said as he started to use up 25% of his remaining mana to cast the 10th tier spell Time Stop.
"[Extend magic: Time Stop]!" Treech announced the spell as it completed casting.
A grey light burst out and froze Truks in time for a short while. Since these bosses were at such a high level, spells like Time Stop are not very efficient and were usually wasted on them. High-level monsters had significant resistance to crowd control and the Time Stop spell would probably only last about half the usual time, even with the extended magic meta-magic applied to it.
The earth pillar-man fought hard against the combined attack of Treech, Dragon, and Prince. It was surprising how defensive these bosses were when they had access to their techniques. Twenty seconds had passed until finally, the earth pillar-man was defeated and dispersed into particles of white light. However, right at this moment, Truks had ended the effect of time stop and his Supreme Skill finished its countdown.

Truk's placed the stone mask with the red gemstone inside it on his face and a loud click was heard. Needles pierced through his face and then the stone mask disintegrated into white light along with the background of the rising sun image, caused by the Supreme Skill.
Treech's eyes widened in surprise as he saw the new stats of Truks. This wasn't a mere phase 2 stage of a basic boss, this seemed as strong stat-wise as the weakest World Boss's information he had seen on the forums!

(Author's Note: Parentheses here are a limit breaker attribute. The normal limit of Yggdrasil is 100, but Truks exceeded his limit by 30 in some stat categories. He gained a total of 210 SP after his Supreme Skill activated and is able to temporarily break stat limits.)
"Dragon, start your Black Swordsman's Supreme Skill now!" Treech commanded quickly.
This was outside of his expectations and they needed a strong tank at the moment to hold back Truks. Dragon nodded and activated his Black Swordsman's class Supreme Skill: [Brand of the Cursed Struggler].
A dark red moon appeared behind Dragon as he activated the skill, a wolf's howl could be heard in the distance as the countdown started for him to activate the skill. Dragon waited patently for the skill to activate, but Truks was not going to wait patiently, he jumped towards Dragon and activated a new skill.
"[Skill: Absorption]"
Truks attempted to suck Dragon inside his body. His skin squirmed like a liquid unnaturally trying to surround Dragon's body.
"[Skill: Overgrowth Roots]"
Treech activated one of his rarely used racial class skills from the Treant race, holding Truks down with roots extended from his body, anchoring him to the ground.
"[Rank 10: Darkness Qi Source Control]"
Truks activated a powerful technique as all the Darkness Qi in the surroundings surged towards him, constantly empowering his attacks with a darkness attribute. He lunged at Treech and fought him and Prince together.
Treech could take a few hits as he had 100 in both Def and Mag Def with his bonuses from his gear, but it still did significant damage to him due to the limit breaker stats from his Supreme Skill. Thankfully, they didn't have to hold on much longer and Treech still had 22% of his HP bar left as Dragon's Supreme Skill activated.
"[Supreme Skill: Brand of the Cursed Struggler]"
The red moon disappeared and a dark brand appeared in the air, it shrunk and appeared on the center of Dragon's armor, visible for everyone to see. Dragon them immediately jumped over to attack Truks, while Prince and Treech switched to a damage supporting role.
Dark Reunion was quite lucky to have 2 members that had classes with Supreme Skills attached to them. Prince's end-game class didn't contain a Supreme Skill but it still was a decent class. Not every class contained a Supreme Skill trump card that could turn the tables of a battle.
Dragon's Black Swordsman class could be considered a High-rarity level 95 end-game class that was discovered by Wings after roleplaying as a black swordsman. The supreme skill was also really good. It prevented him from dying for the next 30 seconds, he becomes immune to death itself as if he could resist the entire world descending against him at once! It offset all damage to be received until after the 30 seconds time was up.
Truks began lashing out with his attacks at Dragon over and over again. Large damage numbers appeared over his head, but his HP bar didn't go down.
"Kid, we are gonna go all out here. Don't hold back!" Treech said as he waved his scepter and cast a Tier 8 Astromancer spell, Cosmic Grip to attempt to hold Truks for a few moments.
"Yes, sensei!" Prince said with seriousness.
"[Rank 10: Density Increment]"
"[Rank 9: Weighted Aura]"
Prince used two of his most powerful growth-type techniques at once, causing his MP to drop to 5%. He wasn't holding back anything anymore. Star mana condensed around him as a gravity field pressed down all around him and his density continued to rise each second. His footsteps created imprints in the ground as he swung his attacks at Truks.
"[Extend magic: Cosmic Grip]" Treech cast his spell as a starlight-covered giant hand grabbed a hold of Truks from the air.
"[Rank 10: Death Knocks]"
Dragon wasn't left behind as he activated his best technique. A loud thump of a heartbeat was heard as his HP started to slowly decrease over time. His mana pool was also emptied to 6% and he wouldn't be able to use anything more.
"Finish it!" Treech yelled in excitement as Truks HP was whittled down from the critical hits of Dragon and the significant damage from Prince.
Prince's density just continued to grow as time passed due to his technique, his speed was slow now, but his fists could eventually contain the density of a newborn star if the technique duration wasn't only 1 minute. His attacks coupled with his Paragon racial talent caused his damage to be more than double Dragon's damage.

As the HP of Truks got lower, he spammed out 3 techniques which hit Dragon directly dealing a ridiculous -60 each time. If he still wasn't under his death delay effect, he would have died more than 3 times already.
*Boom*
Prince landed a kick with his Divine class boots that enhanced knockback by 100%. The weight of his leg caused Truks to fly back and indent himself into the tomb's wall before finally shattering into particles of light from the damage. The boss had finally been defeated and a pile of loot appeared at the location where Truks died.

The notification rang out in the global chat and the members of Dark Reunion all saw they now had an extra title of [Bizare Adventurer]. They were confused about what this meant, but it didn't matter too much. Treech had long suspected that the developers made some very weird references sometimes.
A notification appeared on their HUDs describing the achievement.

At this moment, the damage delay ended for Dragon and he took a total of 740 damage all at once, killing him instantly. But Treech was prepared, he used a Cash Shop Item Pheonix ashes and one of his Rings, which had the divine magic: Resurrection imbued into it from a data crystal. The combination allowed Dragon to be revived immediately and the Pheonix ashes prevented any exp loss upon resurrection.
A large dodecahedron-shaped garden appeared in the center of the boss chamber. It had silver-blue stones lined around it and there were 4 places to plant monster remains inside the garden. Treech walked over to check the status of this new World Class item that had fallen into their laps in slight expectation.

[Use/Description]: A production-type item that grows Data Crystal trees. It is bound to the dungeon location of The Reverse Tree: Hyperion and cannot be removed from its location. The garden can grow Data Crystal racial templates by planting monster or creature remains and feeding the resulting trees with 10x the amount of nutrients needed to produce that racial template as fruit on the trees.

This item has no owner but the land it is attached to. Its ownership will pass to the clan or guild which owns the territory it is on.
Gifted to the dungeon of The Reverse Tree: Hyperion after Dark Reunion first cleared it and got the achievement [Bizare Adventurer].

Treech was really surprised! He felt this item was a great resource for defense and he was absolutely certain that this place was going to be their guild's territory now. He quickly shared the item's details with both Dragon and Prince. Dragon had long since been replaced by Wings who was laughing to himself with a hand over his face.
"Kukuku, another victory. *Sigh* If only they provided more of a challenge..." Wings muttered to himself while looking over the drops from the boss.
"Sensei, I will organize the drops," Prince said dutifully as he started organizing them from the pile
Treech nodded to Prince before he brought up the clan menu and selected The Reverse Tree: Hyperion as the clan territory. Since they had conquered the dungeon, he could select it as their territory now and it was very good. Next, all Treech had to do was finish the Guild upgrade quest after disbanding the Clan and his plans were finally done with this stage.
They hurriedly wrapped up everything that was needed after finishing the dungeon, Prince and Wings both logged off as they were already really tired from the dungeon. They had been running it for so long and needed a break. Treech mentioned that he would finish up a few things and settle the guild upgrade quest before they left.
Treech didn't need any physical rest since he was a ghost in the game. At most, he would need to relax mentally for a short while before he could continue his work. So he organized the clan's gains in his inventory before quickly finishing the Guild upgrade quest in only a short 6 hours. He held the guild creation certificate in his hand and returned to Hyperion, waiting for his two clanmates to log in before creating the guild.
He felt that this adventure really made his heart more alive this time. He looked forward to more in the future.
