Bab 47: Effect Of A Poison (Ch.47)

The door to Chantria's quarters burst open and in rushed Zevon, Amir and Irvine.

"Chan!" Zevon exclaimed as his eyes settled on Chantria, taking in her condition.

Chantria lay back on her bed, shuddering in pain and Zevon's eyes were deeply concerned as he rushed over to her bedside, crouching down beside her.

Chantria struggled to sit up and as Zevon reached for her to assist her, Chantria flinched away from Zevon's touch, in wariness of the pain it would cause her.

Zevon's expression revealed his hurt at Chantria's rejection. He did not realize, that every physical touch would only add to Chantria's pain.

Chantria was about to explain to a stunned Zevon but rather than words, a pained groan was what came out of her mouth.

Zevon immediately forgot his moment of hurt in his concern.

"Gemi! How did this happen?!" Zevon demanded from Gemi.
