Bab 603: Making a statement

In the charged atmosphere of their confrontation, Rakuzen's laughter echoed through the corridor, his voice laced with an unsettling amusement. "I can sense the damage in your soul," he taunted Derek, his tone carrying a hint of superiority.

Kathrine, standing nearby, paled in fear, her apprehension evident as she believed Derek's greatest vulnerability had been laid bare. Yet, to her surprise, Derek remained surprisingly composed, his demeanor unchanged as he casually extended his hand, a look of indifference masking his eyes.

With a calm that unnerved even Rakuzen, Derek calmly retorted, "Even with just a fragment of my soul, I cannot be defeated as long as I possess the power of death."

Rakuzen snorted disdainfully at Derek's confident assertion. "You seem to forget, Derek, that you possess the apple of knowledge. There is no form of power you cannot wield," he countered, his voice dripping with arrogance.
