Bab 49: Sharing plans

As Serena gazed into the distance, her mind revisited the weighty conversation she had shared with her best friend, Judith;

'Are you thinking what I'm thinking?' Serena whispered, receiving a nod of agreement from her best friend.

'The war king must've gone in search of the Demon lord, alone and probably got killed,' Serena murmured, her voice tinged with a mixture of concern and uncertainty.

'Or It could be that he didn't die. What if he's still alive?' she pondered, her voice laced with uncertainty.

Serena shook her head, her voice solemn. 'No, a new war king can never be named or chosen when the current one is still alive.'

Judith's brows furrowed as confusion swept across her face. 'That's what I don't understand,' she whispered, her voice tinged with more confusion.
