Hearing their mocking words, Olivia's face showed a hint of panic. However, after seeing Benjamin appear by her side, she regained her courage and stared at them coldly, saying:
"You better not cause any trouble; the police have been informed. If you continue to make a scene, the police won't let you off the hook."
"Ha ha ha, call the police? Damn, where did this girl come from? Doesn't she know that the police in this neighborhood are all bought off by our boss? Ha ha ha!"
As if they had just heard a hilarious story, the three thugs burst into laughter. At this moment, Benjamin arrived, looking at the thugs with a peculiar expression.
"Who do you guys work for?"
Suddenly hearing such an irrelevant question from Benjamin, the three thugs were utterly astonished. Then they looked at him, their eyes filled with caution.
"Who are you? Why are you asking?"
"Oh, nothing. I'd like to know if I should go easy on you later."
Benjamin's voice was slow and deliberate. However, to the ears of the three thugs, it was as if he had just uttered an incredibly provocative and annoying statement.
"Damn it, are you tired of living? This has nothing to do with you, and you better get lost!"
One of the thugs shouted and then kicked at Benjamin. However, Benjamin did not dodge or avoid the attack. Instead, he casually threw a punch, landing it on the thug's knee.
Crack...
The sound of shattered bones, followed by the thug's miserable scream, filled the air.
"Damn it, my leg is broken!"
Upon witnessing their comrade's leg being shattered by a single punch from Benjamin, the expressions of the other two thugs remained unchanged. Benjamin's move was so fast that they couldn't even observe it. It wasn't until they saw their comrade injured that they finally reacted.
"Damn it, and I'll risk it all against you!"
Then, one of the thugs grabbed the restaurant owner's knife and lunged toward Benjamin. Seeing this, many of the restaurant's patrons screamed in terror.
"Ah... be careful!"
The thug's knife glinted with a cold sparkle, like the scythe of the Grim Reaper aiming at Benjamin's life. Furthermore, his eyes were filled with madness and rage. It was as if a wild beast was roaring and growling.
"You bastard, I'll cut you down!"
Witnessing this scene, all the diners in the restaurant became extremely frightened. No one could have imagined that a minor conflict would turn into a murder scene.
"Please, no... don't do it..."
A painful scream escaped Olivia's throat. Immediately after, the thug's knife forcefully descended, aimed directly at the top of Benjamin's head.
Once struck by this knife, if Benjamin didn't die, he would be left disabled for life. However, just as the blade was about to touch the top of his head, a figure suddenly lunged forward, trying to push him away quickly.
Bang!
Benjamin's body was forcefully thrown onto the ground.
Clatter...
The knife also fell to the floor, and blood spread around it. Yet, the expressions on all the guests' faces were highly bizarre. Because, apart from Benjamin still being held tightly by Olivia on the ground, the thug was nowhere to be seen. When they turned around, they discovered that the thug had been kicked several meters away and was embedded into the wall. Moreover, fresh blood continuously gushed from his throat, his face turning as pale as paper.
"A... murderer... there's a murderer here!!!"
It wasn't until the terrified scream of the only remaining thug echoed that everyone could regain their composure. No one had expected that Benjamin could still deliver a kick in such a critical situation, directly knocking the thug unconscious.
"Make way, everyone unrelated, move aside. We are the police. We have sealed off the scene."
From outside the restaurant, a group of uniformed police officers armed with weapons entered, surrounding the area tightly.
"Go, bring all the relevant people to the station!"
Without even having the chance to ask questions, Benjamin and the three thugs were taken directly to the station.
After taking statements and writing a report for several hours, Benjamin's group was finally released. However, everyone's faces were highly displeased, especially Maris and her husband, who had been thoroughly questioned by the police and had their business documents checked.
"Thank you, if it weren't for you two intervening, my wife and I don't know what other troubles we would have encountered."
Upon leaving the police station, Maris, and her husband expressed their gratitude to Benjamin and Olivia.
"It's nothing, and we're all friends here. It's just that these thugs are quite troublesome. You two should be more careful in the future and not let them cause trouble again."
"I understand. Thank you so much!"
Grasping Olivia's hand, Maris felt highly grateful. If it had been someone else, they would have likely avoided the trouble as quickly as possible. But in the most dangerous moment, Olivia had risked herself to intervene, not caring that she could get into trouble with the thugs.
"I'm sorry I got you involved in this mess."
Back in the car, Olivia looked apologetically at Benjamin. However, Benjamin was incredibly relaxed. He not only smiled but also raised a thumbs-up, saying:
"Back there, you were truly amazing!"
"Are you teasing me?"
"Not at all. I'm serious!"
"Hgmm!"
...
Sitting on the bed, Benjamin still held his phone in his hand. Just moments ago, after dropping off Olivia, he received a call from Tiger. It was Tiger who had contacted him and helped him get released from the police station. Benjamin couldn't understand how Tiger had known so quickly that he had been arrested.
But through their phone conversation, Benjamin discovered that there seemed to be a fierce conflict between Tiger's group and the members of the Rose Society. A few days ago, members of the Rose Society had sought out Tiger's associates for a fight.
This newly established gang had been around for only a few years, but their strength was formidable. Their mysterious leader had significant power, and according to Tiger, this person might be connected to some high-ranking city officials, which made Tiger extremely cautious.
Of course, Tiger's enthusiasm for Benjamin and revealing some of his business secrets was more than half an attempt to recruit him. Years ago, when Tiger was just an ordinary thug and nearly beaten to death on the street, Benjamin saved him.
Since then, Tiger had held Benjamin in high regard. Additionally, Tiger was well aware of Benjamin's powerful abilities, so it wasn't surprising that he wanted to enlist Benjamin's help dealing with the Rose Society.
However, Benjamin didn't want to get too entangled in the underworld. After some vague conversation, he didn't pay attention to Tiger's invitation and turned off his phone, deciding to get a good night's sleep.
The following day, while having breakfast, Benjamin quickly finished his meal. He then swiftly gathered his belongings and planned to go to work to relax and read the news. But just as he was about to get up, Isabella suddenly appeared, coming downstairs. Moreover, she was in a hurry to go out today.
"Benjamin, you don't need to go to the hotel to work today. My driver asked for the day off this morning, so I need you to replace him and take me to the construction site in the north. I have some matters to attend to there."
"What?!"
Caught off guard by Isabella's request, Benjamin was momentarily stunned. However, seeing his reaction, Isabella's face instantly turned angry.
"What? Can't you even drive me?"
"Ah, no, I..."
Benjamin tried to explain, but Isabella interrupted him with a cold snort, grabbed the car keys, and threw them at him.
"Get the car and wait for me!"
Holding the keys and looking at Isabella's cold demeanor as she stared down the stairs, Benjamin felt strange. It was as if two images suddenly appeared in his head: one of Olivia's gentle and sweet presence by his side, and the other of Isabella's harsh scolding and cursing whenever they spoke to each other.
"What are you still standing there for? Hurry up and go get the car!"
Seeing Benjamin standing there dumbfounded after grabbing the keys and not leaving, Isabella became impatient and raised her voice again. At that moment, Benjamin quickly snapped out of it, forced a smile, scratched his head, and hurried outside to get the car.
