"How did you get here?" Gia asked as Zagan and Penelope approached, her mouth dropping open when she considered how far they would have had to walk and how many vampires they would have likely passed on the way without Sage's cloaking enchantment in place to hide them. 

"Penelope opened a portal. Her abilities are back," Zagan told them, beaming with pride and joy with his mate by his side. He looked like an entirely different male now that they were reunited. Whereas before he seemed like a tired, beat up old man, now there was a glistening youth that had returned to his face and a sparkle in his eyes.
