"I have never seen a lycan either," Cora said dreamingly, recalling all of the stories her parents had told. 

She had always wished to meet lycans—to confirm that they were real and not merely some fantasy that she had built up in her mind after hearing the tales of how amazing they were. In a way, it felt like they were part of her family that she had been estranged from. 

As a pup, Zane had always wished to meet vampires. But Cora had longed to find the other side of their ancestry… the people that her mother had descended from. The ones who could transform themselves into wolves.

Theo frowned. This was not a good feeling—his mate speaking of him and now looking at him as if he were merely the subject of a conversation between her and this monster.

"Well that is why I thought of gifting him to you, my dear. As an engagement present," Rayth smiled in that sickening way that looked more like a mask than his actual face.
