Bab 20: 20. Detective D At Work
When D handed Ronald the key to his apartment and Ronald being gone and the garage boys returning to their respective vehicles for repairing, he got his mobile phone out of his pocket and called a man. The man he was calling was a close buddy of him and was working as a lab technician at Crime Branch of Anglesland, Triges. D called him.
"Hello," D said. "Mr. Ray, how are you doing? – Good. I am also doing good here. – Yes, my garage is ok. – Yes, I am calling you from my garage right now. – Ok. – Yes, Mr. Ray listen. Can you run a man's photo and search him? – Yes, I know blood sample or vehicle number will do. Yes, yes, searching someone by his photo is very difficult. But can you do it? – Ok, see him in wanted list first, haha, yes, very funny. – I know it will take months on. – But, I am Whatsapping you the photo, ok? – No, hurry, just do it. Ok, take good care of yourself. – Thanks. – And regards to your father. Bye."
Then D heaved a sigh of relief and called Ronald. "Yes, Ronald, I have sent your friend's photo to the Crime Branch. He will inform me within a month. – What with in a fortnight? – Oh do not worry. Why am I here? – That is an impossible task. I will do it for you. What have I told you? I will handle it. Ok. – You have to believe in me. – Take some rest. We will talk in the evening after I reach home. – Have to finish some important works at this garage."
Finishing the call he shook his head. Then he gathered his boys and asked them showing the photo had they ever seen this man around. The boys looked carefully at the photo for a long time. One by one they took the photo into their hands. Then shook their heads in negative in unison. D sighed and said, "I have to take a winding path not taken."
