Bab 7: Tales of a dragon and a lioness

[ 279 AC, Red Keep ]

[ 3rd pov ]

Walking through the Godswoods, Cersei and Viserys looked at the scenery calmly.

Cersei had already strolled across this area of the Red Keep with her father, however for Viserys it was the first time.

After a few moments of silence, Cersei couldn't hold her curiosity and decided to speak. "Is it true that you are a dragon?" she asked in a curious tone. She wasn't a child, she knew that it probably wasn't true, but maybe...

Viserys turned in her direction and looked at her like she was looking at an idiot. "Of course I am a dragon." he replied as his expression turned into a mocking one. "Can you not see the wings on my back? Or the fire that comes out of my mouth?"

Cersei's eyebrows twitched at his respond. His words made her feel like an idiot for asking...

"Anyway, now it's my turn for a question." said Viserys, bringing her attention out of her annoyed thoughts back to him. "Is it true that your brother is a monster? I heard he has three eyes and a tail, and that when he was born-"

His words were interrupted by the anger on Cersei's expression, which seethed out of her. "He is a monster." she said coldly.

Viserys raised his eyebrow at her reply before he continued walking. "You hate him huh?" he said.

"I do." replied Cersei as she continued to walk next to him. She was starting to regret walking with him, the conversation turned out to be simply annoying.

Silence returned to them before being broken once again, this time however by the prince

"Hmm... you are boring." said Viserys with a smug smile as he looked at her.

Cersei stopped walking as her mind was shocked. This was one of the few times in her life where she truly didn't have anything to say back.

Viserys chuckled, making a vein pop on Cersei's forehead. "Wha-" she screamed, however her words were quickly interrupted by Viserys.

"Hey hey, don yell alright?" he said. "I'll apologise, so don't start screaming."

'This kid...' thought Cersei as she gritted her teeth. No one had ever treated her like this, not even her father dismissed her words like they were nothing.

"Alright, you don't seem to agree with my words, so how about we do something then?" said Viserys. "Tell me a story that proves I was wrong in calling you boring and I will take it back, however if your story is boring then you loose and you can't tell anyone you met me."

Cersei narrowed her eyes in his direction as a vicious smile appeared on her face. "Very well, but once I tell you an interesting story you have to apologise."

"Sure, I don't mind." said Viserys, shrugging his shoulders casually. "But I don't particularly have my hopes up..."

Cersei gritted her teeth as she began to think of a good story, something to prove this bratty prince that he was wrong.

Before Cersei had the chance to begin however, the sound of guards walking was heard near them.

"Well, out time is up and I haven't heard an interesting story so you loose, now you can't tell anyone you met me." said Viserys with a smug smile. "The next time we meet you better have an interesting story my boring princess, otherwise I might even forget I met you..."

Before Cersei could say anything, Viserys grabbed a leave from the floor and threw it in her direction. Cersei stared at the flying leaf, which suddenly turned bright blue and was consumed by fire.

Cersei was stunned and quickly looked in Viserys' direction, however the prince was already gone.

[ Viserys pov ]

Running across the woods, I finally found myself in front of the wall of Maegor's Holdfast that I climbed down.

Taking a deep breath, I began climbing up and soon enough I reached the bathroom, which was currently empty.

A smile formed on my face as I realised things didn't go bad, now all I needed was for Cersei to not rat me out.

Yeah, not the best plan, but a rather good one. If there was one thing Cersei knew was how to keep secrets, heck she even killed who probably was her closest friend to make sure no one knew about Maggy's prophecy. The problem however was that this didn't particularly affect her as much as me, so her reasons to stay quiet couldn't even be compared to the situation with the prophecy.

Still, I made sure to give her a reason to stay quiet. Right now her mind must be divided between the small insults a sent her way and the leaf I burnt.

Cersei at this point had barely been taught anything by Tywin, that much was obvious throughout our conversation. Her planning skills and conversation capabilities were average at best and she was surprisingly easily to manipulate in a certain direction, I did that throughout the small conversation after all.

I got to the conclusion that Tywin must have taught her what she knew when they returned to Casterly Rock after he quit his position as hand of the king, which should be rather soon.

In a way, I was lucky to meet Cersei right now and who knows, perhaps I can even get something out of it. I know that I will end up in Braavos with servants who won't give a shit about me, so even if all I get is a single gold coin from her then it would still be worth it.

Undressing myself, I quickly entered the bath that stayed prepared from before I left and closed my eyes, ignoring the chaos that must be happening outside because of me.

"Sigh, it was a nice walk..." I muttered, inhaling deeply and making the candles in the room now in size and change colour, gaining a bright blue appearance.
