Towards the mirror, and towards the back of him... Mark kept looking back and forth, because he believed his eyes to be playing with him.
There was a girl near the door to the bathroom, and she was looking straight towards. No only did she look at him, but she was also starting to show a look of confusion after the amount of times that Mark had kept looking back and forth.
"You… You can see me?" Finally, the girl decided to say something. The way Mark was acting was too weird, after all. That's why, for once, she believed that there might be someone else than the woman, who is able to see her.
'Maybe he can sense me because he was bitten by her…' She had assumed, before she decided to reveal her voice to Mark.
"Ahh! Yo… You're real? Are you like, some ghost?"
'He can really see me! The lady must have gotten Evan back, just like she promised she would!' The girl was so happy with the turn of events. Finally, she thought, because the recent days had been quite horrible for her.
Seeing that everything ended up being perfect in the end, she felt glad to follow her instincts and trust the evil lady. If she didn't, she figured that she would've never had the chance to get her lover back.
"Yes! You can finally see me again! I'm so glad you're back, Evan!" The girl's words had a lot of joy to them. Obviously, she was very happy.
"Huh? Again? When did I ever…"
Unfortunately, Mark didn't have a single clue about what she was talking about.
"It's me, Alissa. Don't you remember?" The girl's joyful tone slowly started to fade.
"Alissa? I'm sorry. Are you like some kind of childhood imagination friend? I don't recall ever having a ghost as a buddy…" These words of Mark, are the words that shattered Alissa's metaphorical heart completely.
Again, all the hopes of Alissa were lost. She had been lied to, and if things are really as they seem to be, then there really is no way for her to get her lover back.
'No! I heard his voice earlier. Maybe he needs more power or something…' A glimmer of hope was placed on her heart again, all thanks to the familiar voice of her lover that she had heard earlier.
"That scheming lady! Where are you! This isn't part of our deal! Hey! Show yourself!" Out of annoyance and rage, she suddenly voiced out her disapproval for the vile woman's actions.
"Miss… Are you okay?" Mark just had to ask, because he believes that maybe, maybe the ghost has some mental problems. He figured if she does have mental problems, he would try to avoid her at all cost.
'Having a crazy ghost around is definitely not a good idea, especially while I'm undergoing changes that I am unaware about…' Is what Mark figured. He was technically not wrong into thinking like that. After all, with him undergoing changes that he is unaware about, things are already troublesome for him. A crazy ghost as an addition. That would just be too much for him not to be driven to insanity.
"Oh… Haha. I made some bet with a fortune lady, and uhm, well, she promised me that you would remember me today. Welp, what a waste of money…"
Alissa actually made up a lie…
The reason why, is because only after hearing Mark's voice, did she realize that she wasn't supposed to yell out such words of hers. If Mark knew that it was her doing that caused and will cause the death of many people, her future would probably not end well, even after Evan comes back.
'Yeah… Evan might break up with me for that. I need to make that a secret.' Was Alissa's reasoning, basically.
"Hmm… I'm really sorry. I just can't remember anything about us. Maybe give me hints? Things we did maybe? I don't know…" Mark seemed to have believe in her lie, obvious from the way he was going along with it very well.
"Don't worry. I think it just needs more time. I mean, at least you can see me. Maybe it's like memory loss, which means that you'll recover over time." Alissa's words held both truth and lies. She was lying about him not being able to see her before and not knowing her now because of some kind of memory loss, but she was telling the truth about him recovering over time. At least, that's what she hopes and believes would happen.
"Oh… Interesting. I never knew that I had such a kind of problem. Maybe it's like how an imagination friend gets completely forgotten eventually…" Mark seemed to be quite intrigued by the subject that Alissa had brought forth to him.
"Oh, please. I'm not your imagination. I'm as real as I a-"
It was at the exact moment when Alissa was about to end her smug filled sentence, when the call of a person was heard outside of Mark's house…
