I woke to arms around me, slender arms. Still groggy from sleep, I tried to force my eyes to blink open as my heart rate sped up. I had forgotten how much hard work, growing a miniature human being, was. So exhausting, I slept like the dead.
"Luna, shh... lie still, you're safe," Ren murmured, pulling my head to her more than ample bosom as she reassuringly stroked my body with her hands.
"Ren," I smiled and wrapped my arms around her neck, inhaling her faint minty scent.
"I hope you don't mind, but since you left the palace, I had one of my guards follow and protect you. He returned and told me you were back. I just couldn't stop myself from visiting. They've told me everything they saw..."
Does anybody else feel like Luna is a bit emotionally unstable and acting rashly?
Ah, pregnancy hormones may have a tiny influence on her very fragile psyche for now. She has a goal. She's wearing blinders, ignoring everything and everyone else around her.
I'd like to word it as, she's still in shock and denial, at what Ty told her. Everything feels surreal and no longer important. Not the people or the world she is in. Not even the immortals around her. She's starting to shut it all off, one by one...
