Bab 74: 2.43

Though I had only seen this place in my dream, seeing it in reality, forced me to accept that version of events as reality, not fantasy. Despite the fact I'd constantly denied it over and over in fear, I knew it was all real. I just did not want it to be.
The man in front of me was once responsible for the death of the little life inside of me. This body, in turn, was responsible for his death, alongside Noah and her own's murder/suicide, had I not intervened.
"Noah," the General was quite energetic for his age, as he strode forward to pull Noah into a tight embrace.
"I see you've brought some friends," his eyes scanned us one by one. Upon seeing Victoria and Rick his grin widened, "your mother will be so pleased to hear you made it." He pulled both of the twins into a warm hug, genuinely happy.
From the dream, I knew that the twins were childhood friends of Noah's, both his and their families being very close. So close that Hannah often heard from the staff that if it weren't for Izzy, Victoria would be in Hannah's place. Their mother, a shrewd and vicious woman, was the main reason behind the servants' words.
Well, in this timeline let her have him.
I leaned against Alex's arm, trying to gather my strength to face him with a smile, despite knowing exactly how his face looked at me just moments before an excruciating death by my very own hands.
Greetings over and done with, General Lee and his men led us away from the truck and towards the green tents surrounded by wire fencing, stationed by the main gate we'd entered.
Though it was an army base it was large and more like a small town that had been fenced in with tall concrete walls. Handy given the situation we were all in.
"Let's get your friends registered and checked over," he motioned to the soldiers beside him to start guiding us through.
I avoided Will's uncomfortable gaze and decided to stay beside Alex, entering the tent with him, Ty and Laura.
"Oh Honey," the female medic gave me a pitying look, "pregnant in this hellhole?"
I laughed nervously as she flicked through the notes Ty gave her. Once she was done uploading all the info onto the computer, she whacked the file across the top of Alex's head, "and you, put a glove on it if she's brave enough to let you near her after."
"Yes Ma'am," he gulped whilst Ty laughed taking the notes back.
Though I felt guilt at the poor man taking the blame for a crime he didn't commit, my heart couldn't help but skip a beat at how readily he took responsibility for her, for me.
Once we were all now registered on their system, alongside our powers, we were directed to an apartment block, formerly used by soldiers whose families had clearance to live on base. The civilian area was walled off from the rest of the base, with access to the clinic, some small shops, and recreational areas such as a pool and park.
The base truly was the ideal place for me to raise Izzy if I could just ensure she stayed out of that old man's hands.
Would it be better if I just killed him now? Or would the base fall into chaos without his leadership?
Trying to determine how my actions would change the course of the future was tiring work.
"Are you sure it's okay for us to stay with you, sis?" Leo asked, pulling on my arm. "Won't you need the room for the baby?"
I glanced around the small two-bed apartment, all signs of the previous occupants were removed, leaving only the bare furniture and necessities.
We'd been given supplies from the soldiers, everything we'd need in just one small box per person.
"No, it's the apocalypse Leo, she'll be lucky to sleep in another bed than mine before she's strong enough to take on any surprises…" My hand gripped the top covering her tightly.
"What about Will?" Holly asked meekly.
In the other timeline, it had been Hannah imposing on Will, ironically forcing him to take this very same apartment with her. This time Will would likely go to the barracks with the other soldiers. Army first.
"He's a soldier," I shrugged, then ignored the anxious teenagers to escape into my new bedroom.
"Are you sure it's wise to continue letting those two share a room?" Alex asked quietly into my ear from behind. I glanced back, unsure of when he had even come into the room, never mind when he had shut the door.
"Are you volunteering to share a room with Leo then?" I teased, turning to snuggle into his broad chest.
"Hmm… but then who would take care of you?" he asked, tilting my head up to look at him by the chin.
"Holly can, she's also more comfortable to snuggle with in bed, soft and squishy unlike hugging this lump of rock."
He possessively kissed me, walking me backward to the bed. When the backs of my knees hit the bed's edge he pulled back to lift my t-shirt off.
Between his hungry gaze and the cold air, I felt butterflies in my stomach, nervous and unsure of what he would do next. At the same time, I knew exactly what he wanted from me.
"Why are you always so beautiful?" he sighed, lifting my wild curls to tuck them behind my ear, tickling it in the process.
A blush crept across my cheeks as I avoided his eyes. Rough fingers pinched my chin, forcing me to look at him.
"You're mine in this life right?" He asked, yet I felt it was more of a proclamation.
I nodded, still unable to meet his eyes, feeling nervously put on the spot.
For a moment I could swear I caught a familiar smirk on his lips before it turned into a wide grin.
"All mine."
I was pushed back onto the bed gently, my pants pulled off with ease, leaving me in only my underwear and socks.
My eyes nervously glanced at the door, noticing it was already locked.
"The kids," I muttered, aware that Leo and Holly were just one thin wall away from us.
"Then you better be quiet," he muttered into my ear, pressing me into the bed.
I bit my lip, feeling both anxious and excited. Except for a brief incident with Noah, I'd been avoiding anything more than a kiss since waking from the coma.
Ty had told me sex was okay, in moderation. With all Alex had been doing for me, for her, what he was willing to sacrifice for us. It was just sex. I wished I could give him so much more to repay him.
I shifted uncomfortably under his weight, recalling the first night with Alex, how he'd been so gentle, patient, cautious, completely unlike this overbearing, controlling way of handling me he was displaying now. Why was he so different now?
His rough hands cupped my now exposed breasts, squeezing them hard, pulling at my nipples hard. It was as if he wanted me to make noise.
I glared at him as I bit my lip harder, wishing the bed would just swallow me whole as his lips explored every inch of my neck and chest, leaving marks.
When his mouth covered mine, he entered me by surprise, making me finally call out. Satisfied with my noise his lips curled into a smirk and he thrust again in harder.
"Fuck, Alex," my nails dug into his back as my knees squeezed against his waist, trying to create distance. Why was he being such a beast, had I starved him for too long?
"Fuck indeed," he chuckled repositioning himself to grab my hips, lifting me to be at his mercy as he entered again. I clenched my eyes and mouth shut, trying to remain quiet as the sounds of our flesh meeting filled the air.
Despite feeling slight discomfort my core responded, spasming around him as I came. I let out an exhausted sigh, opening my teary eyes thinking was it over yet?
