Bab 62: Chapter 62: A Showdown of Ice, Light, and Darkness.
Aster was inside his room scribbling on parchments as he was decrypting the elven slab when the door was kicked in with a BANG!!!
"Icy-brat, come with me, we have a job to do..." said the manly voice of Yami who was holding his cigarette.
"I did my share today, ask someone else, I need to work on this..." replied Aster without even looking away from his parchment.
"None of the idiots are able to do anything right now, I will kill them later," Yami growled and Finral opened the gate before them Yami picked Aster by the scruff of his collar like a kitten and walked into the portal.
The moment they stepped into the portal, there was an attack headed right at them, Yami slashed it apart with a single stroke of his katana, saving Asta in the way.
"Ahhhh... you drag me somewhere without my consent when I was busy with something, this better is worth my time or you will be bleeding in gold coi... oh, wait a minute... this mana... fine, I will do it myself." Aster cracked his neck and his expression changed in a way that the ones who knew him were shocked to see the feral grin and the crazed desire for battle in his eyes.
His mana was freely scaling and a burst of shock spread out with his mana flaring, pushing any that were near or far inside the cave.
"HAHAHA, the brat finally showed his true colors, I thought that he was a monster, but this..." Yami took a drag from his cigarette and snickered, "it's been a while since I went all out..." Yami did the same as Licht and Aster, his mana flared and soared.
The three stood in a triangle, each looking at the other with a smile on their face, the rocks in the cave were floating up and disintegrating under the mana pressure of the trio. The monsters had locked their horns and the outcome was up in the air.
"Light Magic: Light Whip."
"Darkness Magic: Dark Coated, Limitless Slash."
"Ice magic: Absolute Zero."
White, Black, and Blue clashed, and a vortex of mana imploded with neither side coming on top. The three knew that there was no way to break the balance using mana, the first initiative was taken by Yami who simply decided to slash the ground beneath them to shatter the rocks which Aster froze and shot at Licht at sub-sonic speeds.
Licht was no pushover either, with a wave of two hands an array of light swords formed behind Licht, and with a single gesture it all came down hurling at Aster, Yami, and the children that Finral was evacuating.
With a stomp, Aster formed an ice shield before him to intercept the attack and the moment that was done, the shield turned into spears of ice and hurled at Licht, and the latter did not fail to defend himself but the moment dust cleared, Licht's figure was impaled with five spears.
"HAHAHAHA marvelous, simply marvelous, you used spatial magic to hide these spears and released them right before me when I was distracted with blocking what was visible. I guess, even I might need reinforcements from time to time." Licht chuckled and his figure was covered in motes of light.
Yami who was about to launch an attack on Licht was intercepted by a beastlike man who broke Yami's katana in a single clash.
"Let me welcome my comrades, your kingdom boasts about the three leaves of the clover and what they represent, right? Now meet them, the 'Three Eyes of Midnight', The clover leaves hold pleasnt words of 'faith', 'love' and 'hope', that does not suit you humans, for that I have named them to oppose you, 'Raia, the disloyal', 'Vetto the despiar', and 'Fana, the hateful.' they are the strongest in the eye of the midnight sun, their combat prowess surpasses even me." Licht snickered as Fana started healing him.
A blast interrupted the man/elf and three Magic Knight Captians appeared. Nozel from the Silver Eagles, Jack from the Green Preying Mantis and Charolette from the Blue Rose.
The three of the Magic Knights and three from the Midnight Sun... The stage was set but there was just a little thing they somehow overlooked.
The Winter Spirit who was having a rare rush of adrenaline was already on the high and was irritated quite a bit from the needless yaaping and showboating, he was aching for a battle that will soothe his lust for battle, which was extremely uncharacteristic for someone who is related to the ice attribute.
Well, not being racist on that and continuing the story...
"Step aside, I was here before any of you idiots and I won't have my prey being poached off by anyone, even if they are Captains, not even Julius can make me back down on this one." Aster growled as the temperature in the cave started dropping without pause.
"Who do you think you are, you peasant!" a bloke screamed from the group of Silver Eagles who came to accompany their captain.
The temperature fell by a few more degrees and now the weaker folks among the knights started shivering. "I will say this once, I will fight tonight and it's either going to be me aginst those three or against all the six of you, don't court death, she might just take fancy on you." Aster spoke a little louder than a whisper, but his words were heard by each and every person in the cave, and there was no one who doubted the veracity of those words.
"So, let's dance~" Aster smiled and was about to rush in when he heard a voice that he did not hear for quite a while, a voice that was always in the back of his head and a voice he somewhat missed.
"You steal my words and start the party without me, what do we make out of this now..."
