Lola led me to a secluded corner of the castle's back garden, where the thick foliage provided the perfect shade. No one would have known I was hiding in the woods from a distance.
After a while, I caught a whiff of lemon grass and mint. I turned and saw William. He walked silently, his tall, thin frame almost blocking the sunlight. His blond hair glistened in the sunlight, and he looked at me calmly with his yellow eyes.
"Good morning, Miss Sparrow!" William smiled.
"I just wanted to give this back to you!" I said as I handed him the ring. "Thank you for everything you did for me last night!"
"You don't have to give it back to me. It's just a small ring!" William said as he took the ring.
"Princess Madeleine sent someone to give it back to me this morning. I think I should return it to its rightful owner!" I whispered, "Maybe this ring is insignificant to you, but as a friend, I want to give it to you personally and say thank you!"
