Everything passed in a blur as Jason watched his father introduce him to everyone who mattered. And when everything was done, Jason couldn't leave there quickly enough.
"It's done," Jason said to Mason over the phone when he got inside his car.
"Well done bro. We are making Edith stall Deb from giving her the money until tomorrow when everything is set."
"All right. I will talk to you later."
Later that evening Jason was sitting in his now clean living room going over the plan for their next action when a knock came on his front door.
He groaned when he checked through the peephole and saw Layla standing outside his door.
"You should be resting," he said to her when he opened the door.
"Good evening to you too," Layla said smiling as she walked past him into the house and walked straight to his kitchen. Not any bit offended by his attitude.
"What are you doing?" Jason asked as he followed her.
