Bab 239: Settling the Port Area

Taking advantage of the momentum, the party cleaned up the place. They killed those who seemed dangerous to keep alive and punished those who were questionable but had some hope (like those who had nothing to do with Ugo's murder, abuse of others, and the like). 

This placed both relief and fear in the locals, but mostly they were hopeful of a better life. 

Living with those gangsters was like walking on thin rope every day! 

One wrong move could get them beat up or even killed! It was worse for women who, if they received the wrong kind of attention, would be living a life worse than death! 

Of course, this wasn't the case for some women, who had lived off other women's sufferings to gain a better life for themselves. 

No, sometimes, it wasn't even that. Some women just wanted others to suffer so they could feel superior to them.
