It was nothing more than a light peck, but it was enough to send me into disarray. I jumped back from him, disturbed and very annoyed. He just said he respected my boundaries minutes ago, and now he was going against his words. 

Why was he even doing this? 

Speechless, I wiped at my mouth and his face collapsed with a look of frustration and fear as if he had just realised what he had done. 

Why would he even do this in the first place? I could understand nerves. I have been nervous, but his behaviour… 

I frowned, my anger showing. "Please, stay away from me. I—"

May came forward, quickly intercepting and grabbing a hold of me by my arm and slightly bowing towards Slin. 

"Please, excuse us, Your Highness," She said in a rushed whisper and left, dragging me along with her towards the entrance.
