I knew transferring the assets would be a mess and a difficult task to cover up, but my team was reliable and extremely talented.

I wasn't worried about it anymore—but the thought of losing Scarlet wasn't easy on my brain. It was something twitching my soul in a weird way—something in the back of my mind was shouting at me to stand back and not do this.

I didn't know what to do. I knew that Max wasn't that reliable; I knew that he might very well still hurt her. But was there even another option? I was pretty sure that I couldn't fight him and if I lost, the chances of losing Andrew were almost 100%. It was clear that he didn't care about him.

This way, at least he has a chance to survive. Scarlet would hate me so much if something happened to Drew, and how could I even live with that myself?
