Taranis reacted just in time and with the vines, pierced the creature's body in multiple places and had them wrap onto any bone, organ, or flesh before ripping it apart.

Ashley stood frozen, trembling in immense fear as the blood of the ghoul rained down on her, soaking her from head to toe.

Taranis rushed to her side and stooped to her level before using his hand to wipe the blood from her face. "Are you okay?"

Ashley looked at him with teary eyes before jumping on him, wrapping her arms around his neck as she sobbed. "I was so scared."

Taranis whispered soothing words in her ear as he caressed her back, but kept his eyes locked on the remaining body that started twitching in a similar manner to the first.

"One of these men had a large container of water with them," he told her as he withdrew himself from her embrace. "Clean yourself up and use any material you find in their belongings to make new clothing."
