Bab 638: Something Calling (Ch.639)

"Have I not said I do not want you touching him?" Xenon asked Ida in a dark tone.

"I... I could not just stand by the side and do nothing. I have to bring down his fever..." Ida defended herself in a trembling tone.

Xenon's eyes narrowed, as much as he did not appreciate the sight or have the slightest bit of trust for Ida, it was a fact that Verothrax's recovery was heavily dependent on her at this point.

Xenon's gaze moved to Verothrax, his brows then furrowed into a frown. Whatever had happened out there had drained Verothrax of his strength and had been too tasking on his body.

Xenon was not certain why Verothrax's magic that was usually within his control had taken such an ugly turn, but it had already been centuries since Verothrax had been in his slumber, one could not account for what had happened in those decades.
