Bab 102: Lucien - Dream

[The demons love to see humans struggle and get stronger; they love to see humans fight and scheme against each other. That was the purpose of the Blood Tower's system.] 

Lucien closed the door of his apartment and went straight to his room. 

"So human struggle is all just a game to them?" 

[That, and it was their own way to seek revenge.] 

Lucien frowned. "That doesn't make any sense. If I was sealed for thousands of years, I would like to seek revenge by obliterating all humans. "

Right. This was the part he didn't understand about demons. In the 'Slaying the Demons' why did the ancient demons never come out to destroy everyone, but instead, invite the players into their homes? Why the painstaking efforts to eliminate the weak and strengthen the strong?

Was it merely to prey and watch humans suffer? They could have just eliminated all the humans if revenge was what they wanted. No need for things like systems to raise human strengths.
