Small footsteps were seen moving quickly, shuffling across the floor before crouching down. 

Beep Beep. 

Tiny fingers moved across the phone, dialling a number. As soon as the name 'Uncle Kris' popped up, he pressed his thumb over it and waited, breathing fugutively as it rang. 

Suddenly he felt a shadow looming over him where he crouched behind the kitchen door. In shock, the phone dropped to the ground with a clatter, and he pressed his back to the wall with widened eyes, staring up at the figure. 

"Hello? Theresa?" Alpha Kris's voice boomed over the phone. He sounded drowsy. It was 3:00am in the morning after all. 

Jephthah swallowed, turning mute as he watched her bend to the ground, keeping her eyes leveled with his. 

"Hey Uncle." She called sweetly, bringing the phone to her ear, the expression on her face clearly saying otherwise. It was twisted and horrifying.
