Bab 146: A hybrid

"Nancy?" Brittany spluttered, clearly the only one able to say a word since everyone else was rendered completely speechless, almost mortified. 

But all her attention was fixed on Daniel. 

"I don't understand... Why? Why would you let them take her? She wasn't one of us, but was she willing to join them? Was that what she wanted, or did she have no choice?" 

Daniel rubbed the bridge of his nose, trying to act nonchalant, but he was vibrating with so much emotions inside, it was clear he was desperate to know what was going on, why was Nancy overreacting so much to her disappearance? Yet he didn't want to admit it was his fault. 

"Why wouldn't you say anything?" Talia lashed out at him, and everyone was silent as they all looked up him, the fire crackling, sending small sparks drifting up, towards the sky.
