Alpha Grego had hand-picked two of his men, who he believed were the best in tracking down his daughter. He also trusted that they would be discreet so as not to alert the others that might also be looking for her.

At the moment, he believed that many would want her daughter to land in their hands. First, the Vatalis Clan, who he thought only wanted her to use as leverage against their kind.

He was a fool to enter the agreement in the first place. He should not trust the witches without thinking about the consequences thoroughly. But it was too late. 

He already made a mistake. Now, all he could do was try to rectify it.

"Have you received any word from your men?" A hand wrapped around his neck, hugging him from behind as he sat on the living room sofa, watching the latest news.
