Bab 196: - The Council of the Evolved (5)

The journey through the glass elevator back down from the Council was just as violent as the one that had taken them up, but this time Gus was ready for it. His stomach twisted just as it had before, but this time he was able to stop himself from throwing up no matter how much he gagged. 

Many of the elevators arrived at the same time, slamming into place in as close to unison as could be expected from nineteen individual things. At first Gus paid none of them any attention, but as someone caught his eye he recalled the leadup to the council. He excused himself from Fernando and Jessica and made his way over to Kaya and her Seraphim.

"Can we talk about something?" he said to Kaya as he got close enough for her to hear without him needing to raise his voice. She glanced at him before gesturing for the Seraphim to head on without her.

"What's up?" she asked, pausing before speaking for a few moments to give the people in the immediate area a chance to move away.
