As it turned out, there was another floor of rooms above the bridge. These floors were private, and belonged entirely to Kaya herself.

There were two rooms up there. One was her private chambers, and the other was a private training hall which only she and those she gave permission to had access to.

The training room was a fairly large and empty room, with a space marked in the middle by tiles in the floor that were different to the other floor tiles. Upon entering, Gus first noticed that the walls seemed weird to look at, as though they were made of a material that is not typically used for walls.

Sat in the centre of the room in a meditative pose facing the door, was the pale girl who had scolded him for his use of Kaya's name.
