Just like that, the night came to an end with her being dropped off at the Frost by Astrel. Strangely none of them questioned her whereabouts. Not even her father. For a monstrous person, he seemed calm and quiet the night. He even smiled at her for no reason.
The person who always seemed like a stone head smiled at her!
Strange!!!
Was it the calm before the storm? thought Vilian pulling her hair confusedly as she stepped out of her en-suite after getting her body soaked and cleansed in the hot bath, only to freak out at the sudden shrill scream which had her bite her tongue.
"Uff... Lily. What's gotten into your head?" she yelled with her hand on her chest, her heart beating as fast as it could.
"You would not believe what I've got to tell you, right now," she grinned with her wide black eyes.
She knew that look. That look Lily had whenever she had something cheesy and entertaining to gossip about.
"Not again, Lily," groaned Vilian as she marched into the walk-in closet as she unbuckled the hook and took off the damn heels that killed her feet the whole night. They were so reddened like a beetroot. Walking on her feet for the last few minutes turned out to be hell of a torture.
"I promise you won't regret listening to what I am to tell you, Mi'lady" she tried convincing again.
"Fine! I know you won't let me sleep till you drop whatever that is on the tip of your tongue," Vilian was not fond when it came to gossiping. She hated gossiping about anything or everything. But she was sure Lily would not let her be till she spits it out. They were both aware of it.
"I knew you would let me tell you," squealed Lily with a wider grin.
Vilian shooed Lily out of the walk-in closet and came out before getting dressed in her comfy light blue pajamas and standing in front of the mirror. She gazed at her reflection in the mirror while she ran her fingers over the shiny necklace that she had not taken off.
She had to return it along with the dress and the pair of heels when she get to his office, thought Vilian, and took it off like the rest of the accessories tucked in her pajama pocket, and straightened her long sleeve printed blue shirt that read 'sleepy weepy' in a cute white font randomly.
"Lily~" squealed Vilian and got onto her bed, " I must thank you millions for preparing the hot bath beforehand. It felt so heavenly, babe," she smiled goofily as she hugged the soft pillow. She felt pretty much tired after the long day. The hot bath did a lot to relax her tired body and she was more than thankful for Lily's consideration. She knew if not for whatever that Lily was about to tell her eagerly, she'd read a few lines and drift back to her dreamland.
"I see, you're in a super good mood," Lily gave a knowing look, her lips quirked to a side.
"Nevermind," Vilian placed the pillow over the headboard and rested her head above it, "What's cooking in that head of yours?"
"Right, you see, last night, that scumbag came home drunk and made a big scene in front of the house-"
"Wait, What?" Vilian who had her eyes closed snapped open as soon as she heard who and where the conversation was going with curiosity, "You mean that, bloody rapist?"
"No interjections, Mi'lady," pleaded Lily as she glanced at her. Vilian gestured zipping her mouth and gave the imaginary key to Lily who willingly took it and started to telltale the incidents, "So, what I was saying was, that scumbag started screaming and babbling in an unclear language. He had a broken wine bottle and another uncorked bottle in his hand. When he was about to take off the cork the bottle slipped off his hands, clanking on the floor," Lily started to play the role of Eric in front of Vilian, clutching the perfume bottle in her hand. She seemed she was totally jumped into Eric's character. Vilian could not help but burst out into loud laughs as she clutched her tummy.
"The Fenan, the Frosts, and all the servants came out running in confusion and alert. By the time we ran out of the house, we saw the gatekeeper struggling to convince him to walk in. But the poor man was pushed down to the floor. Mr. and Mrs. Fenan screamed out of their lungs to stop. You should have seen the very instant Eric saw his dad, he turned into a puppy, apologizing for god knows what as he held his dad's leg tightly. Puppy, as in, a real one at that, Mi'lady," she exclaimed and giggled, falling on the floor.
"Guess what he did next?"
"Puked?" questioned Vilian, the obvious thing a befuddled person would do.
"Ah ah..." she shook her head clicking her tongue, her hands on her hips, "Worse than that," she waited for her to guess once more.
"What else... Did he dance or sing?"
"Nahhh... He bit his father's calf," she once again fell down laughing.
"Hell... No way..." Vilian's eyes widened with her hands flew up to cover her mouth in disbelief.
"And... and you should have seen Mr. Fenan, he was so baffled. Master and his mistress stood rooted on their floor. They looked so annoyed and disturbed. To not humiliate themself more Mr. Fenan tried to pull his son up and drag him into the mansion with the help of some of the servants. But his son kept on ranting nonsense, occasionally mentioning your name. And then... PLAK!!!" she made a dramatic sound, "A hard slap fell on the scumbag's face. As if it bought the scum back to earth, he stood up staggeringly and was taken to his room. The Fenans kept apologizing constantly."
"Well... didn't anyone ask my whereabouts?"
"Right! That's where I'm coming to. So, when they were licking their apologies at the front hall, Madam Vivian shouted, where you were in tears."
"Drama queen," muttered Vilian and continued to listen to the intriguing things that had conspired last night.
"-Like a bucket of ice water poured onto everyone, all of them started to panic. They tried to call you. Texted tons. They even demanded me to reach you-"
Now that answers her why she received so many messages unlike any other day thought Vilian but something hit her as she thought of what Lily told her just before, "Oh no! I'm sorry," Vilian stood up and walked toward Lily, "Did they hurt you?" She questioned, concernedly as she laid her hand on Lily's shoulder. Lily knew who exactly she meant by 'they.' Her father and her stepmother.
Lily clicked her tongue, "Nah, how could they, when the Fenans were there," she chuckled. "They could only send glaring daggers at me. By the way, where were you? You sure do know how to freak me out, Mi'lady."
"Of course, at Mia's. I'm sorry I could not ring you before. I was just sucked up by that - Long story, shortened. I and Eric fought after the dinner on our way back home, and I got off his car."
A loud gasp left Lily's mouth with her eyes all wide like saucers. Her mouth opened and closed like a fish.
"H-he didn't t-try to-"
"You think of me as the same old powerless girl, don't you?"
"Goodness, no, Mi'lady!" exclaimed Lily and sighed, "But-"
"Can we continue this talk tomorrow? I feel so sleepy," interrupted Vilian as she faked a yawn.
"You sure you're alright, Mi' lady?" she questioned cautiously. But received a pointed look from Vilian, "Forgive me for paying less concern on you, Mi' lady," she bowed and fled to the door.
"Have I not told you to speak normally and not so formally?" Lily bowed once again, "Anyways, just wake me up earlier than usual. I got some work scheduled for tomorrow," Vilian spoke as she got on her bed and glanced at the book that lay on the bedside table.
"Certainly, Mi'lady," Lily bowed her head once again and glanced around the room before disappearing behind the closed door. Vilian shook her head and took hold of the heavy brown leather book, and started to read the book from where she left.
