Bab 97: Inner Dissonance

The first thing John noticed was comforting warmth coursing throughout his body. Even if his mind still felt a little fuzzy, he immediately recognized it was the effect of his boss' herbal brew. The second thing he noticed was he was lying in his bed, arm bandaged and both blanket and Sayuri's coat covering him. From his left, he heard a gasp.

"Y-you're awake," she quietly said with quivering lips. She was wearing a dark red hakamashita and a pair of hakama pants. With her long black hair, Sayuri sported a very traditional look. It was quite the opposite of the other Tengu he had gotten to know, the one who eradicated his pack. Yet, as quaint and conservative she looked, it was another aspect of hers the Fae appreciated. 

John smiled a little. "Sayuri, you should have killed me when you had the chance," he scolded her softly. "The more you interact with me, the harder it will get. Weren't you taught that?"
